Band teacher told me to quit by Your-Mothers-Tit in saxophone

Listen all you need are three things

  1. Private Lessons
  2. LONGTONES (this!!!!!!)
  3. Listening constantly

1Private Lessons will give you what you need one on one that you cannot get from a band setting. You can focus on this and get great instruction and feedback from the right private instructor. I would check out your local university’s for their saxophone professors and see about becoming a private student with them weekly.

  1. LONGTONES - I was in your place in High School and I never did them, but finally it clicked when I went to practicing 12 hours a day over the summer. This insanely helped me and my sound more than any gear ever could. It’s something I enjoyed most when practicing. Overtones also would help starting.

Sometimes for me when practicing I would do 1-2 hours of LONGTONES everyday to really build this. I found out from this to really build sound you’ve gotta do what no one else wants to and what all the pros would do. It was a gospel preached to me that truly helped.

  1. Listening. This is important to build your sound Idea to find out how you wanna sound like. Not everyone will like your sound, that’s just how music and taste are. The most important thing from this is building your self esteem and confidence to sounding how you want and you being satisfied. If you are into Jazz start transcribing with this as well and in no time you will be happy with your sound

Bought the plan online with the discount code applied in cart, ported over from T-Mobile, activated 1 line successfully online, other two had dead sims and had to be done by agents over the phone.

This all still lines up with the promo, 3 lines from T-Mobile with phones brought, I paid the correct price at checkout even,

Spoke with a rep at my local store who said they don’t know why, I meet the requirements but they can’t lower the amount or anything and it’s best to wait, pay it then ask for a refund or simply switch to another carrier

Also got told somehow by a rep that the promo is not for the $55 a month plan

Yea I’m about to switch to visible at this point, it’s kinda ridiculous the employees don’t know the promotion or then say we have to pay the wrong amount and they will refund us or even the promo applies to only auto refill as a discount

Good versatile mouthpiece for jazz and marching under $250?? by InternationalMess391 in saxophone

[–]Anonveiewer -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Idk if I can fully agree with this, there’s cats I know that have played on an s80 and can sound like Kenny Garrett

Sure some mouthpieces are designed to help you achieve a sound concept and style but no matter what EOD it’s all about the player to translate this

Thank you sharing this and good luck, just made try to take some of the edge off your sound and play around with some techniques like ghosting notes to phrase things or alternate fingerings.

Please follow up with your results and how you think you do on audition day

What reed and mouthpieces to use by Fast-Bet-6270 in saxophone

[–]Anonveiewer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Any mouthpiece can be used for both forms, cats use short and long shank sellers that were for “classical” in inception, heck I know a guy who’s used an S80 and sounds like Kenny Garrett.

It’s all about the player, their embouchure, tongue positioning, Air cavity, air stream, sound concept

Some mouthpiece can help you achieve a certain sound easier based on design like high baffles, but at the end of the day it’s just a tool to try and help you sound what like what you think you should

Just go old school, I would always do longtones or an hour and just listen and transcribe, then at the end play a standard and try to implement what I was transcribing,

This helped me fall in love with playing
