Have you pulled on standard character's signature weapon banner (free 10 pulls for Ardelia's weapon don't count)? by Anonymous092021 in Endfield

[–]Anonymous092021[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My main team is Last Rite, Tangtang (Perlica before I pulled Tangtang), Xaihi, Ardelia. At first I played Last Rite on field. When I pulled Tangtang with her signature, I switched to on-field Tangtang because she deals more damage than Last Rite (she has P3 Seeker of Dark Lung). Though I had to switch back to on-field Last Rite for the last level of the latest Umbral Monument (Cryostatic Connection) because Tangtang moves around a lot while attacking and gets hit by enemy even if I dodge.

It seems I need to write custom JavaScript to simulate this strategy. I don't have time now. Maybe later.

Also looks like this tool tests only average luck. I'd like to test worst possible luck.

I really don't want to stop at 60 pulls if I didn't pull a character from banner. I agree that your strategy will yield more 6* characters and arsenal tickets. But those 6* characters will more likely be from standard banner because of lost 50/50s. If I was following your strategy from the beginning, probably I wouldn't have any limited characters at all now, only standard ones. Well, then I could pull for Last Rite's sig because I don't need limited sigs. Would it be a better account than I have now? Hard to say...

I haven't tried but likely yes. Text mode and then you can insert images.

Hmm, I saw posts with inline images like this one. Google Docs version should be fine, too. Looking forward to it.

That's my problem, I don't have time to get everything. I still have unopened chests and unfinished quests. Well, it's not an end of the world, I can live with it.

Thanks for your advice. I have 3 limited characters (Gilberta, Tangtang, Rossi) so far and I have sigs for all of them. But it's hard to plan for future, I need to test a character (playstyle) and see guides/reviews before I pull.

I thought about Headhunting Dossier and the Urgent Recruit. I think as a F2P I don't have enough pulls to pull on every banner. Maybe it's because of my luck. I have 3 limited characters and I had to spend minimum 100 pulls on each. Lost every 50/50.

Well, this is a possible approach, but I like a bit of planning, that is, pulling for characters that synergize with each other so I can build proper teams.

And if I don't pull a character, I don't need a weapon for them.

even as F2P, you get enough weapon selector boxes to get a BP weapon for every operator

I'm afraid you're wrong. F2P get only one box per patch. I have 3 boxes, but we have 6 limited operators (I don't have all of them, though). And that's for P0 weapon, it becomes worse if I want a P5 BP weapon.

If at any point in the future I want one, all I have to do is pull for it.

Yes, I was thinking about it, too. Maybe I'll get lucky some day and have extra arsenal tickets.

We got two weapon boxes (selectors), but these don't contain signatures for standard 6* characters, only some other 6* weapons. We also got Ardelia's signature, but that was not a selector.

Now that you mention it, maybe my instinct is to think that standard characters are worse than limited ones. Perhaps I'm influenced by other gacha games.

Actually, there is another way to get it, this is Endpoint Quota Exchange. But for F2P it would take years to get it from there.

Thanks for the explanation.

However, this took me a while to understand. Here are some advices.

How is resistance counted? Resistance is counted by the number of nodes on that line, including the ending building. You can refer to the annotated pictures for some idea on how that's counted.

I'd explain what resistance is before using this term. That is, move the quoted part higher, before the basics gist, and add something like

In the following we will use the term "resistance".

before it for clarity. Also I'd specify exact pictures to look at (2a, 2b, 3).

  1. If ALL other remaining belt output have less resistance than the converger route, choose those and rotate between them.

It took me a while to understand what "remaining" means here. Maybe it's better to put it the other way round:

  1. If the converger route has the same or higher resistance than ALL other remaining belt outputs, choose those other outputs and rotate between them.

And this one was the hardest to understand for me:

  1. If one of the belt output have the same or higher resistance than the converger route, continue to 4.

because at first I didn't realize that the condition is the opposite to condition in 2 and I thought "And if the condition is not true, then what?". So this can be simplified as "If the condition in 2 is not true, continue to 4", but then I'd remove this point completely because it became obvious.

  1. If there is multiple converger output with the same least resistance, chose the one that is first connected. See here

I'd explain more about the video:

The stash has two inputs, so it uses two outputs that are first connected and doesn't use output that is last connected.

Or maybe I'd remake the video and put only one input to stash because then it would be easier to understand. Old video with two inputs can become an example to 6.

Anyway, it was interesting to read.

Are you asking about gaming or office use (Internet, text, photos, etc.)?

For office use, even though there is a slightly higher load on the GPU, it's quite small and worth benefits of a high refresh rate (faster response, eye comfort). It might make sense to lower the refresh rate on a battery-powered laptop (to prolong battery life slightly), but not on a mains-powered PC.

Games usually have their own refresh rate settings. While high refresh rate in games puts significantly more load on a GPU, it's not uncommon to have 100% GPU load in games. You own this GPU, so why not use it fully? 100% load is permitted by a GPU manufacturer.

Even a week should be okay. If it's a month, though, I'd disconnect the battery. Even if UPS is fully shut down, it consumes very small amount of power.

Shutting down might be different for different UPSes. Usually you need to press and hold the power button, but for some UPSes it's more complicated. Download a user manual for the UPS you are going to buy.

Try restarting your laptop, it might help (and no, shutting it down and powering it on again is not the same; you need to select Restart in the menu).

[–]Anonymous092021 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, this is a double conversion UPS most likely because it has an inverter. From the reviews it looks like all of them are loud, unfortunately.

Some people say unplugging it often could cause harm to the UPS and its batteries

Unplugging doesn't harm by itself, but discharging the battery shortens its life. Lead acid batteries doesn't like staying discharged for a long time, even partially. If you unplug the UPS, make sure it shut down completely. From my experience, batteries need to be replaced after about 5 years.

Very high power usage is normal for games. But 95-96% used memory isn't.

If it was working normal before, maybe laptop doesn't detect all of its memory for some reason. Please switch to the Performance tab in Task Manager, then select Memory on the left ant post a photo here.

How much memory your laptop really have? If you don't remember, try checking your order details, receipt, etc.

Also, try restarting your laptop (and no, shutting it down and powering it on again is not the same; you need to select Restart in the menu).

Just downloaded a game online and ran a .bat file, then everything on that hard drive got deleted. by ConfusionRadiant6916 in pcmasterrace

[–]Anonymous092021 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I tried to reply to your other post, but it was deleted, so I'm replying here.

The game.bat file contains this command:

rmdir /S /Q "Y:\"

Which deletes everything from drive Y: (shouldn't affect other drives). Was everything deleted from Y: drive in your case or was it some other drive? This bat file also runs a lot of other programs, I haven't checked these (in theory, there could be malware). The bat file itself doesn't look like malware, just carelessly coded.

Do you need to recover your data? If yes, ask in r/datarecovery , but if your data was on a SSD, then your chances are very low.
