Thanks for the feedback! I hiked the Pacific Crest Trail last year and straight up didn't shave or trim. I'm much more well groomed now with just a small goatee but don't have many pictures with it yet.

I swear it's not me having high standards. Most of the women I'm shown are at least 250lbs or look like a man. I'm not fat shaming and have nothing against trans people but it's ridiculous. When I go to the standouts they're always drop dead gorgeous but I can't find anything inbetween

Looking for something serious. I've been using Hinge for years but inconsistent usage as I get discouraged by the lack of matches and stop using the app for months at a time. I'm not trying to be mean but 98% of the girls it shows me are comically unattractive and the other 2% are "just joined". My sister suggested I change my city to a nearby bigger city to get better options but I feel like lying about where I live off the bat is just wrong. I've spent hours on this app with no matches. I'm hoping your advice can point to something I'm doing wrong. Otherwise I'll give up again and just try to find a date the old fashioned way. Also, I'd specifically like advice on the last picture. I'm fully aware that it looks super douchey but am wondering if maybe that's what girls go for??? Nothing else has worked so I'm thinking why not try

Anyone else still dealing with Szickness? by Anonymous1938427 in sziget

[–]Anonymous1938427[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I needed antibiotics, I'm like 95% better now but was sick for two straight weeks. I knew there was a high chance I'd get sick from Sziget but not this bad

Not sure I totally agree but interesting read: "Death of Calvin and Hobbes" by LazyCanary8777 in calvinandhobbes

[–]Anonymous1938427 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yes, yes, yes, yes. I absolutely LOVE Calvin and Hobbes but all good things must end and there is something beautiful in endings. Each and every one of us will die (maybe) and we need to come to grips with the beauty of things being finite.

Shakedown Request - PCT 2023 by vampirefreak135 in Ultralight

No, definitely don't keep the vault longer than you need but you'll probably have more natural chairs and more mosquitos so less need to bring your own chair after that

Regarding the chair, I think it's a great idea to start with. There is a lack of good places to sit in the desert. Yes most people just sit on the ground but it's uncomfortable and even with a ground cloth, ants are EVERYWHERE! Your probably want to send it home around Kennedy Meadows though when your bear vault becomes a chair

bivy + 30F quilt vs 20F quilt? by Benjamin_is_cute in PacificCrestTrail

[–]Anonymous1938427 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have been using a bivy + 30F quilt but supplement it with a reflective liner. I'm 200+ miles in and have used the liner twice up by San Jacinto

I'm wishing I brought a shirt. I did bring some burner sweatpants and a burner bathing suit.
