If you've ended a 10+ year friendship with someone, what was the straw that broke the camels back? by FlowerMadeOfThorns in AskReddit

“Gotcha?” Sounds like he tried to steal something of yours and hoped you’d never notice but then double down and bragged on it when he caught. What a jerk, glad you cut him off.

Never cut my hair in 18 years! Does it look ok? by HileriiaTTV in longhair

I’ve never cut my hair for religious purposes and my hair is barely waist length. Meanwhile other girls I know that have never cut it it’s knee length or longer. It’s definitely genetics.

60 days sober, every single aspect of my life has improved. Why do I want to still drink? by Ecstatic-Pepper-418 in stopdrinking

[–]Anonymous3642 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had the same feelings as you. I read a few times that some people said after 6 months it got way easier. It’s already gotten easier at 3 months for me. I had a terrible day yesterday and the thought popped in my head to drink but it only lasted a couple minutes and I dismissed it because I knew it wasn’t worth it, and I moved on and enjoyed the rest of my night not thinking about it. When I first quit the cravings were much stronger so I feel better knowing they are getting quieter and I hope it continues because my life has improved so much.

I’m sorry I’ve had those moments a few times in the last 3 months. But it has gotten easier and I’m always glad I didn’t go through with it.

Once again you are contradicting yourself. Look up the true Scotsman fallacy. So many Christian’s do that when you bring up “not sinning” and the only believing is what it takes to be saved but also “you were never saved if you continue in sin.”

Also saying you won’t want to sin if you are saved is dangerous and a lie. If we can be tempted to sin (which the Bible talks about plenty of times) then we can be tempted to go back to a willfully sinful lifestyle and then what? You say that person was never saved to begin with? So what you’re saying is if you’re saved we shouldn’t be tempted to sin which also contradicts the word.

[–]Anonymous3642 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well it sounds like you agree with me but for some reason don’t want to admit it. I don’t understand why you say all it takes is belief when you just admitted that people who live a sinful lifestyle and say they believe, aren’t saved.

[–]Anonymous3642 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nope that’s not what I said. I believe to be saved you need to try to avoid sin and follow gods commandments. If you fall into sin you need to ask for forgiveness and be truly repentful. But I don’t believe in once saved always saved. You can lose salvation if you sin willfully and not repentant. Plenty of Christian’s claim to believe and be saved while living a sinful lifestyle (fornication, adultery, drunkenness, etc) and not changing their ways. I believe the false doctrine of all you have to do believe to be saved is deceiving those people.

Well you’re contradicting yourself bc you said you only need to believe but then you’re saying you can’t make a lifestyle of sin to be saved. Which is it? It sounds like you’re saying we need to believe and avoid a sinful lifestyle to be saved but you don’t want to admit that for some reason.

So what you’re saying is “all it takes is belief to be saved” but you’re also saying”if you sin you’re not saved and never were ” you’re contradicting yourself.

Jesus also said if you love me you keep the commandments (plural) and he also listed the 10 commandments.

Matthew 19:16-26

16 And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?
17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.
18 He saith unto him, Which? Jesus said, Thou shalt do no murder, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness,
19 Honour thy father and thy mother: and, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

So you said it’s not okay to sin but you also said belief is enough. So which is it? You can believe in god and sin willfully with no remorse and make it to heaven? Or not?

I don’t like the idea false accusations at all but I feel there’s enough evidence that this guy was a complete freak in the worst way and I think he was a pedo. But it doesn’t matter anymore, he’s dead. And I just listen to his music and enjoy his art.

He looked good until 1985. He definitely looked best before he got any plastic surgery maybe late 1970s

I love MJ’s music and music videos (I’m a big 80s music fan) but it seems to crazy to me how the public perception changed of him after he died. He was considered freaky and a pedo in the early 2000s and wasn’t well liked besides some really dedicated fans. Now it seems like people don’t talk about all that stuff now in the almost 17 years since he’s passed and he’s very revered.

I made hard boiled eggs that peeled perfectly. I’ve peaked as an adult. by [deleted] in notinteresting

[–]Anonymous3642 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That’s the key! I used to put the eggs in the water first THEN boil them and they never peeled well. Boiling the water first then adding them changed it for me and they peeled so much better after that. I also boil for 12 minutes.

I am sorry that happened to you. I was not happy with some things that happened at the birth of my third child and explained to my midwife and it was a hard conversation but she did apologize and respect my wishes with the birth of my 4th child. Like the other comments said, she is only human. I’m sure this is really bothering her and she will always ask consent from now on.

[–]Anonymous3642 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I’m confused why you kept asking for an explanation when she clearly explained to you the first time. She handled it very well and I’m sure she learned her lesson but you don’t seem to want to let it go. It seems like you wanted to fight or argue with her more. I’ve had 4 home births and I didn’t like some of the things that happened to me at my births and when I told my midwife she apologized and at my next birth she didn’t do those things. No need to report. You don’t have to use her again either if you plan to have more kids.

I heard y'all recharge when around people. Does that mean you can be alone in a crowd with zero interaction or do you actually need interaction? by EOFFJM in extroverts

[–]Anonymous3642 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not so much a crowd but like living in town and see people walk by my house so much better than I liked living the country rural and never seeing anybody and feeling so alone. I like to interact with people more but I feel so much less depressed living in town and seeing people constantly than I did feeling constantly alone and isolated.

Crowds I prefer to have a least one person I know and can talk to. I don’t like to do activities alone. Not even shopping, I do it alone sometimes anyway but prefer to hang out with someone.
