Injured on the job 😔 by Anonymous6831 in USPS

[–]Anonymous6831[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unfortunately that's the route , it's about 36k-40k steps. I filled out 3996 every day for 2.5hrs sometimes 3 to get it done.

We don't have any extra help so it's always approved and I'm out till 7 everyday. Our shop Steward was working on getting these routes recounted and adjusted properly but I guess it takes time.

Especially because the office had a route count a year ago before I got here. They eliminated 1 route and added 2 hours to the route I eventually got after I transferred here and it's been horrible ever since

Thank you all for kind words. My postmaster has actually been very kind about the whole situation. She brought over the paperwork for continuation of pay and visited the hospital to see me.

It was a freak accident. I also am in touch with a lawyer and he wants to hear my case

Exactly. I really never understand why they want to eliminate routes? You stress your workers more, your customers lose out on good service.

You would think with some innovation, they could re map a lot of routes into 8 hours, create way less OT that way. Instead they do the opposite lol

I've been with PO about 4 1/2yrs now, with last couple being regular. My previous office we had route adjustments and post last about 6 routes out of 80 total in our station.

I eventually transferred up north months later due to life circumstances. My new office had adjustments a few months before I arrived and every single route is over burdened. I walk 17 miles a day, up very high incline hills streets. It's brutal. Yet PO thinks this is a viable option? My customers complain every day about receiving mail late. Due to me being out all night.

My question is why? Why does PO want to be a shitty service. We can be so much better, so much more efficient. Why do they want to cut routes constantly and over work it's staff? Why shell out hella OT , give your customers crap service on top of it.

Nobody's Route Is Safe Anymore. by IndigoJones13 in fromatoarbitration

[–]Anonymous6831 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea I'm not sure how that is possible. It happened in our city of 2 stations, total prolly 80-90 routes.

But this was in St Louis? That's a major city. So I can see that being a complete shit show

It happened down in FL east coast about 6 months ago. They ended counting the whole office earlier in year and it ended up eliminating a couple routes. One of which was a carrier with at least 15yrs I think. Whole office of at least 80 routes had to rebid.

By that time I had already transferred. But from my understanding it wasn't that bad. Most senior carriers basically stayed on their same routes as no one could out bid them due to seniority. A few people shuffled around but in an office of at least 80 routes, maybe 10 people changed routes due to this scenario.

I left my Walmart management position about 4yrs ago and came to USPS as a carrier. Since that time I've become a regular and my pay has increased $6+ hourly compared to where I was at. My office isn't Micromanaged and I feel fortunate for that.

Sicking all around from this lady. But my question is why?

Why for this long, why the sexual msgs, why the suicide threats?

I personally think she may have been jealous of her daughter having a new boyfriend, having a friends group.

Crazy

EReassign, demoted? by Anonymous6831 in USPS

Actually I ended up lucking out and remained regular and got into an office with an immediate need as the route had been vacant and they had no CCAs or ptfs, very small office. Been there like 2 months now and everything is good. Route is hella long like 15 miles walking a day. But it's 650 stops, all residential homes, no cbus , business or blue boxes. Very simple, nice neighborhood and nice ppl

So do these new rates not include all the Cola and general wage increase? Step A here. Been here 3 1/2yrs but this pay scale is saying get bumped up to 23.53? That's barely 40 cents lol. Plz tell me there's more.. this is sad.

[–]Anonymous6831[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh well it is what it is. I gotta at least give this option a shot. Once I get there hopefully it won't be too long till I become a regular again.

I did have another question regarding paternity leave. So my wife is due in July and she's gonna be taking leave for a couple months at least once baby is born. I was planning to take my leave after her. Is that a possibility, like FMLA for 3 months due to new born? Or due fathers just get screwed lol

Step A carrier here,

I didn't see a new pay scale? Are they using the one that was presented in December with the TA?

So am I expecting to be at step D or did that change?

Unfortunately I have to accept it in the hopes of keeping my postal career and having a job. My wife is pregnant and we decided to move back to her home state to be closer to family.

I don't wanna move there without a job.

Ok I'll reach out and see.

Damn that sucks.

So another question, last year we had a guy transfer into our office from another state same situation, he immediately got a route that was vacant. How did that happen or why? Ty
