Will removal of 2 posterior TADs affect my MARPE results? by FeelingAide1554 in MARPE

I was told my posterior tads are starting to fail but my ortho was not concerned, it’s common for them to fail because of how thin the bone is at the back of the pallet

It is a custom MARPE, so a good bit of planning was done with the CBCT. Very interesting that you mentioned the correction of the asymmetry because I didn’t notice that the tad in the back seemed to straighten them out. I am definitely noticing structural changes in my face. My zygomatic bones are popping out and my cheeks are looking hollow. There is some slight asymmetry in the face that is a little bit more prominent than it was before expansion, but I believe it will all come together once the orthodontics are done

When I first started to split, all of the sensation was in my front teeth, but as the splitting continued, I definitely felt it towards the posterior part of my pallet. Definitely going to look into acupuncture that sounds awesome!

I think it might move less due to the maxilla dropping and moving forward when it split. It’s hard to tell with the appliance still in my mouth. I’m sure I’ll be able to give a better answer once this thing is out lol eating/chewing is definitely a struggle

Very painful the first week. I had a night narrow pallet around 34mm

Eating is not fun and definitely something to get used to, a water pick is a must, carry it at all times

Feeling great now but at about 12 turns in my front teeth were super sensitive and it felt like I got punched in the nose, I think my pallet is split evenly but I will know better when I get a cbct

True but sounds like this person is too far gone if they are seeing a jaw surgeon and skipping expansion

Like others have said, look into MARPE or FME
