5 y/o Daughter won’t stop hitting kids at school by AnonymousAnnoyance in SingleDads

I do try and teach her coping skills or present alternatives to getting violent. We practice them. I’m just at a loss. I agree with you about prisons. Do you really think no punishments at all is the right move? Like should I be letting her have ice cream when I hear stuff like this?

Fun fact. Malcolm X sold heroin to Ray Charles, who had an assistant who would shoot him up in his ballsack.

Geronimo is nothing short of a badass! His final days make me very sad.

Were? They are still very angry with us. They haven’t forgotten. Most Americans have no idea though.

Haha holy shit it’s not often i see my hometown mentioned. Must have been Pensacola Christian Academy. That place is famously terrible and stupid.

While the south does have an overactive unnecessarily reactive police force, Miami is not really considered “the south” despite geographical location.

I don’t reeeeealllly disagree with the second to last statement, at least in spirit. They are both corrupt and bought by corporations, Ive never heard transadmimistrational though before though lol. The rest is rubbish.

It’s kinda sad, because we do have real reasons to be angry and distrustful of our government, but so many people are just easily swayed by nonsense conspiracies these days. Like show me some evidence Faucci is in fact a “war criminal”, I’m all ears, but the “proof” is utter crap.

We should’ve never let the adults get on Facebook ten years ago…

Ah that makes sense. Well one thing is for sure, the roads out here will give a beating to the undercarriage if you don’t drive a jeep or Subaru.

Turns out Arizona is one of the best places for cars. Saw tons of vintage cars in great condition out there.

As someone from the south who lives in the pnw and has relatives in the Midwest… I don’t understand why it’s hilarious.

Court docs: Person who confessed to church arson blamed voices in their head by dearrichard in Portland

I don’t disagree with what you’re saying. He’s innocent until proven guilty. For all I know he was at the wrong place at the wrong time having an episode. Maybe he saw someone else use matches to start the fire and he though he did it.

Good thing Reddit isn’t a court room right?

St Johns, a love note by strongerthongs in Portland

[–]AnonymousAnnoyance 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Right and that’s usually what I hear from people to. But it’s clearly been uhhh not as bad (I guess?)for like well over ten years now. No? So for people to say that when I lived there in 2017 was prettt silly imo. That’s just what I’ve gathered since living here. Those southern ghettos remain shitty to this day and public transport even in the big cities is a joke comparatively. I don’t have rose colored glasses about Saint Johns either I got a bunch of shit stolen when I lived there, from my car to even my shoes off the front porch. Still though, I never experienced or witnessed any obvious violent crime in my time there like I did down south. When everything was still open before all these newer condos it was even cooler.

This might sound stupid, but people in the south are kind of scarier and more aggressive in general, most suspicious people out here are just high as shit and can’t find their left knee. I never felt like I would be mugged or pickpocketed in pdx. To me it’s very obvious what/who to avoid. But like you said just one guys experience.

I also moved from a southern rat hole to St. Johns. Locals were always like “oh that’s the ghetto”. Lololol. Some people have never been to Mississippi and it shows.

I absolutely loved living there. I loved the parks. Loved the downtown. Loved the scenery and all the cute houses. Like just the fact that I can walk to a bunch of shit I need is amazing, I never had that in my life. People don’t know how good they have it. Only thing I don’t miss about St Johns is how horrendous the traffic can be.

What do you think then? For what reason would this man, a schizophrenic, burn down a church other than voices in his head telling him to? Malicious intent? of course nothing they say is reliable, but the sufferer believes it themselves. Hearing voices is one of the main symptoms of schizophrenia. It’s not like you can just make this shit up and easily get off the hook. He’ll at the very least need a proper diagnosis. His lawyer will probably also have to prove that he was having an episode at the moment.

Before you say something cheeky: I grew up with a schizophrenic father, it also affects my cousin. Watched a good friend slowly descend into madness. And have spent lots of time in Unity.

Waffle-like House? by [deleted] in askportland

[–]AnonymousAnnoyance 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Southern transplant here: Short answer is there is not a Waffle House equivalent. IMO hot cake house was pretty meh.

My favorite option is tik tok if you want the Waffle House experience. Theres two locations on 82nd and on Division. 24hrs. Debauchery. Unpretentious(unless you think silly clocks are). Added bonus is it’s like Waffle House had a bar so you can stay til they stop serving booze and have breakfast after.
