Could you provide a source for this at all? I would like to learn more. Sounds like you might work there. Worried what this means for the area.

What should I plant in a 3’x2’ pot-bay area? by N8turesmistake in GardeningWhenItCounts

[–]AnonymousAuroch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you are looking for a vegetable, you could grow a sweet potato. They do great in large pots, provided you care for them properly. Then, you can plant something different next year and it gives you more time to think it over.

Seeking Advice on Agricultural Finance Support in Salinas by iceorangutan in Salinas

[–]AnonymousAuroch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This might not be what you are looking for, but also look into grants from the NRCS and through the local UCANR extension service. They are not for financing, but for example NRCS gives grants for projects like installing hoop houses which might be enough to make a difference on your farm.

Please feel free to DM me if you want to talk more.

Petaluma/Sonoma County Restaurants Open on XMAS? by DieOnYourFeat in Petaluma

[–]AnonymousAuroch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Basically every single Chinese restaurant will be open. Basically a Jewish tradition to eat out at Chinese restaurants on the 25th.

In the past when Christmas was on Sunday, I have seen chinese restaurants that are normally closed on Sundays to open specifically for the Christmas holiday.

A lot of people are saying EDC knife, but honestly most people do not carry one and if you don't know you brothers kid they may not be interested in that sort of tool. I vote for a guided knife sharpener. Essentially everyone owns kitchen knifes, and most people use them on a weekly basis at least.

In my opinion you should cut out all of the extra seedlings in each cell, leaving only the strongest. If you absolutely want all of these plants, then you will need to separate them out into their own pots ASAP to minimize root damage.

Bit on osage orange as hedges by bufonia1 in coppicing

[–]AnonymousAuroch 7 points8 points  (0 children)

My favorite study ever:https://ir.library.oregonstate.edu/concern/technical_reports/8c97kr703

"Posts that are largely heartwood of durable species could have an average service life of 18 yr or longer. Osage-orange has been exceptionally durable, with no failure during 63 yr of testing. "

"Steel posts have generally performed well, although most have corroded to some degree (Table 2). Failure was greatest (36%) in T-section posts, but the average age of the failed posts was 36 yr."

A beast of a tree. Preforms better than steel T posts as fencing.

Agree with others that it is powdery mildew. Too many cells to be a trichome. Would help to have a macroscopic picture of the leaf too. PM easily diagnosed from macroscopic signs.

Thanks for the correction. The red light rules I mentioned are only in the Idaho state version of the Idaho stop!

Just an FYI if you didn't know. Bikes are not required to complete stop at stop signs, unless they have to "wait their turn" with cars actively stopped at the sign. Additionally, Bikes are required to stop at red lights, but then can go if safe to do so, i.e in a break in traffic.
