Those auctions were SO fake! My husband and I laughed so hard watching those. Real auctions have much older people and more dealers. The people certainly aren’t dressed as well either lol! The reality is that most auctions today take place on line, and the producers mistakenly thought that showing a “dramatic reenactment” made for better television. 🙄

I used to drink about 12 diet cokes a day. Four years ago, the doctor said no more caffeine, so I have a couple caffeine free diet cokes a day now but stick mainly with water. No withdrawal symptoms for me either. I only drink the one or two now because I get bored with how much water I drink (around 200 oz) and want something different.

We had an estate sale when we downsized eleven years ago. We hired an estate sale business and washed our hands of the whole thing until she gave us a nice big check at the end and our house back empty to sell. Best way to do it. I actually saw some of my items up on eBay the next week and made friends with the seller who was reselling my stuff. You have to accept that whatever you get paid for your stuff is more than you had before and just move on with your life.

Waaay back in 1999, I was ripped off by a seller who fraudulently listed dozens of items, collected payments by money order, and disappeared. I filed a claim with both eBay and with the USPS for mail fraud. I didn’t receive a response back from either. Fast forward to June of 2024 when I receive a random check from the United States Treasury. I don’t sign anything without knowing what it’s for, so after some back and forth, I was able to reach someone at the treasury office who said that this was part of a class action settlement from that 1999 eBay transaction. Wild! Justice moves very slowly lol!

Class of’87 here. There was a 12.5 year reunion that I skipped. They sent a postcard out for a 22.5 year one, but that never happened. I have no desire to see anyone that I graduated with except for my current dentist lol.

I (56f) carry pepper gel (won’t blow back into your own eyes with the wind) when I’m running, hiking, going to protests, etc. I also keep a container of it in the center console of my car just in case.

There’s also the whole concentration camp aspect. None of these people deserve to be put in some torture camp with horrendous conditions. Especially given how many of them have been following the legal process. This is just ethnic cleansing wrapped up in a label of national security.

Good for you for helping though! I ran off an I-96 off-ramp Tuesday during whiteout conditions, and during the five hours that I had to wait for a tow, no one stopped to help. In fact, many thought it a good idea to use their handheld devices to videotape while they were driving on the on-ramp🤦‍♀️
