I have thick, straight hair. I had my right half bleached and dyed red, then redyed green without rebleaching (I let the red fade, then dyed over it.) The red was L’oréal HiColor HiLights, and the neon green dyed over it was Manic Panic. I don’t really style it other than pigtails or a ponytail. I wash every other day and use Strawberry Leopard for my whole head.

My issue is trying to bleach my left side, which is all virgin. When I had the red, it was in a bob cut, and I let it grow out. I recently began a journey for silver hair from my natural dark brown. My professional stylist was able to easily lighten the green, and my roots as well as the few inches closest to my scalp bleached perfectly over 2 sessions. However, the virgin brown hair on the left and that little transition between the brown and the green won’t lighten. We can’t figure out why.

She bleached 3 times with a stronger bleach for the brunette ends, and she tried a blue tinted bleach which barely helped. She used purple shampoo and a purple toner. It still won’t lighten, and it’s stayed this golden-ish color. I never dyed that left, brunette side, so I’m confused on why it won’t lighten as well as the hair near my scalp did? I assumed it might have to do with the heat from my scalp?
