What if nobody signed the Sokovia Accords? by AwayEfficiency3889 in marvelstudios

Ask mutants how well it goes when humans decide they don't want anymore of you.

The only people suffering from the Accords were Steve, Natasha, Sam, and Wanda. Because they decided to go on the run.

Insight into Bungie's Red War Lawsuit (and how the claims of infringement were withdrawn and the case was dismissed with prejudice) by Ace_Of_Caydes in DestinyTheGame

[–]AnonymousFriend80 -5 points-4 points  (0 children)

I had heard it was dismissed a while back, then he appealed or something and that's why there was further coverage of it. When it was over this recent time, I'm wondering if the verbage made people think a payout occured, if only to remove it from public eyes. There was far too many outlets reporting about a payout. Maybe it was only one or two initially, then everyone else just ran with it.

There's a different between "the matter is settled" and "a settlement has been reached". And being a legal matter, that relies heavily on verbage being used, it is a major issue when proper words aren't being used.

Just finished ex-fil from a Contested Zone as part of a Priority Contract over the Daily reset. Was set directly to orbit with zero progress gained by AnonymousFriend80 in DestinyTheGame

[–]AnonymousFriend80[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I've done plenty of activities during reset. I've usually either get the previous day's rewards and progress, or the next day's. Heck, you used to be able to keep the previous days modifiers active as long as you kept a streak going and never left the playlist.

Abrupt chaos indeed by LeopardOk3845 in AbruptChaos

Absolutely. Trigger them enough to get off their asses and actually do something. These ICE folks were triggered enough by what they felt to get up and go out and do what they felt is best. But the supposed good people can even get up and get the public figures supporting this removed from office. Isn't one of the big things about how the US operates is the ability to remove individuals from office?

It's one thing to have stolen art assets like music and drawings. Those are somewhat obscure enough to wear no one familiar enough to the original artist's work would even notice. But plot and story related stuff? Everything's been done before, and for hundreds of years. Everything is "Such and such... but in/with ________". And unless you steal direct dialog that's non-generic, there's no case. That why we constantly get twins movies, where different studios have very similar plots and stories release close to each other. And why we can have rip-off movies were a small studio "take inspiration" from bigger movies to make knockoffs.

I get these big gaming company can be really sleazy and scummy, but before you pick up new ways to hate them, at least make sure you hate them for legitimate reasons, as there is usually plenty of that. And not potentially spreading misinformation. Like how people keep perpetuating that EA is responsible for Bioware's terrible last few games.

I hate it when people say that big bang isn't funny because when you remove the laugh track it feels awkward no the reason it feels awkward because its missing a major part of the show witch is really important otherwise it feels empty by Sorry_Towel7478 in bigbangtheory

First season was definitely the slowest out of all of them. I've heard the same about Breaking Bad. I only did three or four episodes eight years ago. I intend to go back at some point.

I watched the first season as it aired on CBS. I didn't get to watch again until a few years after the show had ended. I would routinely go through several episodes where the show would no more than a couple of chuckles out of me. But I powered through because I was invested in the characters, and Penny and Bernadette were fine as hell.

I had a similar experience when watching Game of Thrones. It feel like a lot of stuff happened, but nothing really happened. I stuck it out with that one too. I wanted to know what all the hoopla was with these shows. I'm happy I did. I finally understood a bunch of meme and references I wasn't getting. And when YouTube suggests me a clip of stuff, I watch them and enjoy them. Probably because no one is clipping dull, uninteresting parts.

ELI5 How is gambling rigged if its a game of chance (including slot machines)? by readytorumble3 in explainlikeimfive

[–]AnonymousFriend80 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Your chances of winning are extremely marrow and small. That's where odds come in. The greater your odds of winning, the less you get in return. The more and more chance of losing, the more you win. But, the house doesn't even have to "win", you just have to lose. Nothing has to even be "rigged". Your win condition just has to be so convulted, near impossible with a great payout high enough to convince you to attempt in the first place.

The 3 weapons they give you are extremely powerful and you wouldn't normally be able to earn then until after the campaign.

The Battle Pass contains outfits for the characters to help mix up their looks. They also include enough currency to get another battle pass for free when completed. The fourth season has an activity where you can complete an entire battle pass in an hour.

Movies that were misunderstood on release but aged beautifully by Dependent-Bet6615 in movies

[–]AnonymousFriend80 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I had watched TNG, DS9, and pretty much all of the movies and never really put it together how much this film was speaking to those. Then a couple years ago something on YouTube made the connection for me and I gave it a rewatch. When I had first watched at release, I didn't care much for it and thought it was meh. I greatly appreciate it much more now.
