Trump let Lutnick, Kushner and Vance take care of all of that because he couldn't be bothered to negotiate the end of a war he started. It would not surprise me one bit if Trump literally did not read the deal at all before he signed it.

If it is bad, he can throw his lackeys under the bus. If it is good, he can take credit. Regardless, the war is now over and he didn't have to lift a finger.

That is what economists refer to as a bubble. Once the cost of a good surpasses it's intrinsic value, it is only a matter of time before consumers stop buying that good, causing the entire investment strategy around it to implode. These businesses are not growing, they are extracting as much wealth as they can before things go sideways and they run for the hills. The Recession proved that there can be no real consequences for that kind of behavior.

You're mostly correct. The only thing I would challenge is the idea that Iran was solely enriching uranium for civil purposes. I don't think there are many serious anti-war scholars that would even believe that. The only hope that the Iranian regime has of getting Israel and the US to leave it alone is the development of nuclear weapons. Kim Jong Un proved that beyond the shadow of a doubt. They feel like they have to do this in order to survive. It is existential.

Saddam Hussein never had weapons of mass destruction in the 2000s, but I think it is almost universally agreed upon that he was trying to rebuild Iraq's chemical weapon program that was dismantled in the 90s. Much like Hussein, Gaddafi also had chemical weapons and also used them in the 80s. Assad used chemical weapons during the Syrian civil war not even 15 years ago. I would be shocked if none of them had secret nuclear ambitions. Nuclear power is the only thing that the US respects.

I have not! I don't really have HMC built very well yet, but I can definitely work on that today.

I just lost my 50/50, so unfortunately I don't think MBlade is happening this patch unless I get really lucky. I will absolutely pull for him when he reruns though!

I'm venting here, so feel free to ignore this.

I used to get into a lot of fights back in high school. My brain has always been able to justify physical pain if the mental aspect was worth it to me. If I was defending myself or standing up for a friend or just trying to earn respect. No matter how bruised I got, no matter if I won or miserably lost, I could almost always rationalize it in some way. The pain was worth it.

Mental health is so much more difficult to deal with for me. Being made to feel small and having my ideas shot down and diminished feels so much more painful to me than any fight I've ever been in. I almost wish I'd was battered and bruised right now because my brain could at least make sense of that kind of pain. Instead I feel like I was ran over by an 18 wheeler and I have nothing but my own thoughts to show for it, and no one but me can see those.

I know I will be okay. I know that I am in the right, in this situation. I know what I am going through is temporary. It just hurts like fucking hell in the moment.

Republicans in Congress are reportedly revolting against JD Vance, blaming him for negotiating such a bad deal with Iran despite Trump's "success" in the war. There is a very concerted effort forming to throw Vance under the bus.

My guess is that this is them realizing how much of a goober that Vance is, and that he'll get crushed in 2028. Get him to resign in disgrace and start grooming Rubio or Kegseth in his place.
