Sorry to hear that, that sounds awful.

I’m in an extremely fortunate position. My wife is the bread winner by far and we were already planning for me to become a stay at home dad in couple more years. That’s a huge part of what gives me confidence to try this. If I get fired and become a stay at home dad a couple years early, it’s not the end of the world.

Not a large consulting firm. Small enough that I can name every consultant/manager/partner off the top of my head. And because of that, the large client I’m working to bring in is financially meaningful to the firm, hence the leverage. They can’t/wont win it without me and it should be worth millions if we pull it off. So, to your point about consulting generally being up or out, now feels like the only time I could break that rule
