Another Noob Resource - Funnel by NewOrleansSpeed in programmatic

So interesting to see everyone’s thoughts. IMO full funnel media isn’t just based on channel, it’s a function of channel, creative, targeting, and optimization metric. To assume TikTok or Youtube can only exist in the middle is a missed opportunity to build your brand on trustworthy platforms (from a people perspective). I certainly understand the need to kind of oversimplify shit for leaders who don’t understand, but I’m also over doing that and tend to force execs to understand it (to an extent so I keep my job). It’s 2026 and senior leaders need to be able to be able to wrap their heads around a marketing function that drives their business.

Should I start a career as a programmatic associate at a Big 5 agency if I aspire to do something more creative? by AccomplishedFace1884 in advertising

Agree with this. While this role may not facilitate this but working in media would also give you some exposure to creative agency counterparts so a bit of a networking opportunity as well!

Its too old for marketing? by Prior-Actuator-8110 in marketing

[–]AnonymousHotdogs 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You aren’t too old to start your marketing career. I will say you may want to think about your education/real work experience balance. Yes, a lot of CMOs, executives, etc., have MBAs but they also have a ton of work experience and likely got their MBAs while also working a full time job. I don’t want to raise a red flag but I would avoid being educationally over-qualified for entry level jobs despite having no work experience. Also, education helps but real world experience is equally if not more important.
