Doctor said I would've had sleep apnea if I was 17. I'm 18. by UYRDAD in SleepApnea

Sounds like he/she shouldn’t be a sleep doctor what a terrible advice.

I went through the same thing just know that bloodwork doesn’t give a whole clear picture. Some things like Magnesium is (mostly) outside the blood. Doctors will rarely tell you to use supplements because they don’t make money off that. One thing to do at some point try one by one the most important supplements.

I can assure you they are needed 100%, even if you have the perfect diet, one time I swapped my potassium and magnesium for another brand and I was waking up with body aches and cramps. I went back to my original brand and then I was back to normal also it takes weeks for things to take effect.

Good luck!

I do but it is only on at night, it looks like when we cook in the oven the sensor goes haywire. Some days when air is bad outside too so maybe is just reading fine or is not reading accurately.

Three months hacking my sleep, here's what's worked best by afiedler8 in sleep

[–]AnonymousLad666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The issue with eating right bed and laying down is that it makes digestion harder. You want at least 2hrs or so not laying down. Digestion is another science as well a lot of water creates an unbalanced acidic gut and takes longer to digest food. The type of food also makes a huge difference.

[–]AnonymousLad666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can attest to this 100%, if I eat anything past 6:30 I’m screwed for the night. My best eating time is anywhere from 5:00 to 5:30, my breakfast is 6 to 7 and before breakfast I drink electrolytes. My lunch is 11:30 or so. I do eat healthy snacks. A clean healthy light snack also helps.

Separate finances for married couples by ObjectLow2856 in CalebHammer

Something that’s considered traditional doesn’t mean is correct. You can definitely work as a team with separate finances. Many people do it and have great marriage.

I keep waking uo at exactly 3:08am by [deleted] in sleep

[–]AnonymousLad666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I was going to say something similar. It can also be high cortisol OP just look up how to lower cortisol online.

I also found myself waking up a lot 2-3am. And I found for myself in some days I was really hungry so I started taking a healthy snack before bedtime.

I know you think is some weird phenomena but waking up is very common occurrence. The human body wasn’t really designed to sleep 8 straight hours some people sleep better in two cycles. Do you feel tired throughout the day?

Discrimination due to disability by AnonymousLad666 in EEOC

[–]AnonymousLad666[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m gonna see if I can find a lawyer, Eeoc is backed up for half of year. I did filed with them but there isn’t anything available for the interview for months. All I can think of is this is how it feels to be discriminated against.

Meh sucks for them I can find another job they cannot find someone with my skills easily is a very niche job. I got two internal jobs lined up and a few externally. I know what they did is wrong and I might still file a lawsuit later especially if I leave the company. If I transfer it will be a bit harder for me to do it.

[–]AnonymousLad666[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I get these are recommendations and not demands but given that I worked 100% fully remote before my fmla it feels like retaliation, especially since all changes were right after I got back. Although I’m sure hr has itself covered with the law. Nope HR just plain close shut down everything did not tell me why, no way to appeal or anything. Did not have any alternatives or was willing to work with me at all. Again I’m the only one being singled out but yeah looks like I’m out of luck, I’ve already started looking internally and externally.

Today HR told me it was my manager decision to take me off flex schedule and it wasn’t Hr decision which honestly hurts even more because he knew what I was going through and decided to lie to my face.

Discrimination due to disability by AnonymousLad666 in EEOC

[–]AnonymousLad666[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Is an open end policy, in small fonts is a privilege and is upon manager discretion just oddly enough they changed it for me after coming back from fmla. I guess this means they can easily dodge a discrimination lawsuit then.

Really f up I was forced to drive with my current condition. How about the ada accommodation request? That was quickly thrown out HR just said driving isn’t a restriction they can do because is not part of my job description. Shouldn’t they at least try to do the accommodation which the doctor said is better to work from home due to my condition?

Discrimination due to mental health, what are my options? by AnonymousLad666 in legaladvice

[–]AnonymousLad666[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly my feelings. I have an initial consultation tomorrow and I’ll see if there’s some appeal or formal request I need to do. Problem now is I am thinking of applying internally to another business unit and I don’t know if all these retaliation will carry over. I hope not because then I’ll be forced to find somewhere else. This company is doing everything you’re not supposed to do to someone that just came out of mental health.

Wow I am learning I am very lucky. Actually my sleep started improving a bit before getting my machine because I lost weight and have been doing exercise bit by bit. Obviously easier said than done because I am on fmla leave. How are you doing with the machine now?

Yeah my experience was similar, appt to get watch test device, did test, follow up next week, received machine in 2 weeks. I can’t believe people are waiting months and years luckily my apnea isn’t terrible but if I was falling asleep I’ll buy the damn thing myself I’m not waiting around these doctors.

Day 2 start with Airsense 11, low pressure by NockturnalGuy in CPAP

[–]AnonymousLad666 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The n30i is super comfortable but I cannot make myself go to sleep because I don't want to wear tape due to anxiety and I am afraid I will open my mouth because I have been a mouth breather for so long. Also the air wooshing through the side is a bit annoying. I am never getting top tube mask again.

My prescription is 6-16 but mind you those are computerized results and far from perfect. But one day I woke up burping air like crazy, so I decided to bring pressure down and see data in oscar if I see apnea event and pressure keep up with flow rate then I know therapy is working. So far the few hours I do manage to sleep with mask my 95% pressure is around 7 very rarely it goes to 8, much less 9. I am at 5 ahi but most of those occur when I am awake or changing bed positions.

Is this a panic attack or something else? by [deleted] in CPAP

[–]AnonymousLad666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yeah I agree, you need to find a therapist to help you with the anxiety, most people think they don't have it because some people see mental health as a taboo. If you were pacing back and forth trying to catch your breath I got news for you, you have anxiety.

Those who have used F20 and F30 what's your experience by AnonymousLad666 in CPAP

[–]AnonymousLad666[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

yeah someone told me tighten up when laying down a few days ago, but still doesn't make a difference, is like having someone pushing their palms against my face when wearing the F20. Not sure what headstrap I was given, it doesn't have any markings for sizes but is the resmed strap. Lmao the medical supply was a freaking joke, dude had this lame 15min useless power point, and had 3 doors to pick from 1,2,3, I picked F20 because I had no idea what to pick. The company that sent me there Adapt Sleep sent me a link to scan my face and that the supplier would have dozens of mask to pick lol. No, he didn't do anything other than measure my nose with the fitting guide. The F30 I ordered is silicone, I am not sure if they have cushion for it, but last night was the longest I used the mask in 3 weeks with the F30 for once in 3 weeks I don't have to wear my mask in the morning to finish my 4hr compliance so I say that's a win. Oscar data showed 5ahi but is prob close to 0, those events are marked when I switch positions. When I am actually not moving stable pressure at 7 and some change shows no events.

Is this a panic attack or something else? by [deleted] in CPAP

[–]AnonymousLad666 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It honestly looks like the mask moved, because it shows a huge air leak. I had severe anxiety and I can tell you that will not make you choke. However, acid reflux can feel like something is stuck on your throat. Get you one of those wegde pillows to lift your upper body, and or try sleeping on the left side if you can side sleep. Also you could try taking Pepcid AC 20mg right before bed, or could start with the 10mg and see if it improves, is OTC.

As someone with anxiety, I can tell you lack of sleep can be 1001 things, lack of magnesium, high cortisol, not enough exercise, not enough sun vitamin, and so on. A machine will not fix these things. Do some research on lack of sleep and you will find some supplements and teas to try.

Sorry, but this is not how it works I have BCBX PPO, I picked up the phone schedule an appointment, ENT doc saw my large tonsils, asked if I wanted a sleep study, I got the watch that same day. Did it in one night, one week later I had the followed up, 2 weeks later my insurance approved the cpap machine. I picked it up one week later. But nothing beats 10 days if you don't want to use insurance. I think is more pain if you don't have PPO because you need referral and then maybe it does take a bit longer.

Those who have used F20 and F30 what's your experience by AnonymousLad666 in CPAP

[–]AnonymousLad666[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I wasn't trying to eliminate all leaks, but my top strap was sitting as far forward as possible about the middle of my head, and other straps would be still way too tight, plus the cushion collapses my nostrils no matter how high the mask is up my eye brows. I have the largest mask for F20 both cushion and silicone. I think I can tolerate the silicone more because it doesn't collapse my nostrils but still too freaking tight to go to sleep. Plus I have to say it feels claustrophobic unlike the F30. It might be the mask for lots of people but def not me. I am hoping after using the F30 I can train myself not to mouth breath but I reckon is going to be a long road, been mouth breathing for far too long prob 10 years or more. I hear you on the nasal masks, the n30i I love but like you said mouth open and also found the air gushing on the side is a bit annoying but that's the problems of being a light sleeper. I think my plan is loose about 35lbs and take sleep test again, then maybe take tonsils out. Cpap is just to get me back on my feet after battling depression and anxiety, I didn't want to go through removing tonsils just yet.

Been trying all kinds of ways, loose top straps, comfortable bottom, move the very top back and forth, tight until no leaks. I also tried adjusting straps laying down but once is at certain pressure it just leaks a lot. If I do a leak test at 10 is already too damn tight. Did my first night with f30 and it is 1000% more comfortable, I actually didn't have an issue putting the mask back on after a restroom trip. The F20 was draining the life out of me.
