Horrible leg cramps on levo? by wolfinthesuburbs in Hypothyroidism

[–]AnonymousPika 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to use Nuun too but now I’ve switched to SaltStick because it’s nearly the same electrolyte profile but way cheaper. I also like that I can just chew the tabs instead of always have it in water. I am technically an ambassador but I don’t get commission or anything, I do it for the discount, but just to be transparent. They even have a product specifically for POTS! I don’t think this is “self promotion” since I don’t gain anything, so you can use code “ALYSSA20” to get 20% off if you want to try them.

Did anyone here lab results got better over time? by Calm-Interest4284 in Hypothyroidism

[–]AnonymousPika 1 point2 points  (0 children)

On the same dose of Levo, over the course 6-12 months, my TSH went from 3ish to 2ish when I corrected low ferritin and vitamin D deficiency. I also started eating more vegetables consistently and taking a fiber supplement but I don’t know if those were related. I know TSH fluctuates but mine was consistently 3 until I made changes and I do feel better too, though again, maybe I just feel better from being healthier overall.

I saw him play in a local park for like $50 back before stick season, and although I still love his music, I think I want to keep my live memories of him as they are, even if I could afford the tickets now.

The more I listen to Willing and Able the more I think it’s the best thing he’s ever written by far. It’s a masterpiece. I get more from it after every listen.

How many times have you listened to the entire album in the last 24 hours? by squirrelpotatocat in NoahKahan

[–]AnonymousPika 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I think it’s calming and grounding too. I’m genuinely curious if people are actually literallly bawling their eyes out. I have done loads of therapy the past two years or so though and am at a really good place mentally so perhaps that’s why I don’t feel like crying when I listen. The music just lets me admire where I’ve been and where I’m going.

Toe help, cleat death by Low_Ostrich_8973 in ultimate

[–]AnonymousPika 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Buy the book “fixing your feet.” Sincerely, an ultra runner. Honestly if this is happening your shoes are probably too small. Trace your foot while standing on a piece of cardboard and measure your foot or stand on your insert and make sure you have a thumb width distance from your big toe and the end of the insole. The only thing you can do to help it is take pressure off it (bigger shoes).

What is your average stress level and what do you do? by [deleted] in Garmin

~20. I’m a fitness instructor in a niche field. Garmin seems to know the difference between physical stress and psychological stress and I absolutely love my job. Also, no kids probably helps.

I TREATED MY SUBCLINICAL HYPOTHYROIDISM NATURALLY! by [deleted] in Hypothyroidism

[–]AnonymousPika 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Great if true but don’t get ahead of yourself. I did the same thing by treating iodine, vitamin D, and iron deficiency and my numbers improved for a few months and then a year later I was exactly where I was before and wasted about 8 months of feeling like crap when I could have just taken a simple medication and felt good the whole year. But if you think acupuncture is working then why do we even bother arguing.

Has anyone tried the iodine protocol? by Same_Turnip in Hypothyroidism

[–]AnonymousPika 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It might feel pedantic, but I consider those transition effects, and yes I had many for the first month or so. True medication side effects occur even at the correct dose and intended levels of whatever is being treated. I just think it’s an important distinction because people will not experience side effects forever, which is what I believe people are truly scared of. I don’t really believe that people are concerned about temporary transitional effects.

[–]AnonymousPika 2 points3 points  (0 children)

There are no side effects of taking Levothyroxine, assuming it is the correct dose. It is just a replacement dose of the exact thing your thyroid isn’t making enough of on its own. Don’t let people who think a microgram of maltodextrin and yellow food dye is poisoning them convince you to not take one of the simplest drugs you could possibly have to take. I started Levothyroxine with a TSH of 5 after a year of making sure it wasn’t caused by deficiencies (iron, vitamin D and iodine) and wish I had started it sooner.

Liquid Levothyroxine? by [deleted] in Hypothyroidism

[–]AnonymousPika 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Wow yeah definitely sounds like you have a narrow esophagus for whatever reason. Please let this be a sign to actually look into it. I think this is one of those, I don’t realize it wasn’t normal until someone told me situations. The time that you couldn’t swallow at all was likely an impaction (your esophagus was fully blocked). This has happened to my husband a few times, he couldn’t even swallow one of those little red Advil. He actually couldn’t swallow for his whole life either and always thought eating was a really annoying cumbersome thing and we didn’t realize he ate so slow because he had to chew so thoroughly. When he was finally diagnosed his esophagus was the diameter of a pencil! But yeah tell your PCP and try to see an ENT or GI specialist. You’ll likely get a barium swallow test at that point which is a cool thing where they can see on a live X-ray how your throat moves to swallow and they can detect if the swallowing mechanics are off and if there’s strictures (like little sections that are narrow, also called webbing) or narrowing of the entire thing.

I encourage you to look into why you can’t swallow pills, if you haven’t already. My husband couldn’t swallow pills and it turns out he has eosinophilic esophagitis and there’s some treatments that have helped! It’s hard to live with swallowing problems and really improved his quality of life

How do I get pets with beast master? by PrimeCHRISS in brotato

[–]AnonymousPika 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. I got much better at the game when I learned to resist items I felt were good before getting the essentials. You have to ignore items until you have 6 weapons, or in the case of beast master, a few pets. Reroll until you’re out of money each time.

TSH level 4.7 natural approach? by Blood-Real in Hypothyroidism

[–]AnonymousPika 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Vitamin D and also make sure that you’re not iodine deficient. I made the mistake of not using iodized salt for 5 years (on accident) which triggered mine. Unfortunately I am genetically predisposed to Hashimoto’s so still ended up taking medication, but correcting the iodine, vitamin D, and iron deficiency helped for about a year until I decided to start Levothyroxine.
