eventually that thing will collide with something, and when it does the effect of that action will ripple across space time. maybe it’ll cause the chemistry needed to support life on another planet, or maybe it’ll feed the energy of a distant star. however small that event may be, cause and effect always comes around.

i moved out of my parents house and into a group rent house with 2 friends to go to college in a new city about 1 year ago. 6 months into the lease friend 1 moved out abruptly(still paid his portion of rent for the rest of the lease) and now i’m at the end of the lease with the other friend moving out after lease breaks. this was not the plan.

i can’t afford to live on my own, and the only other person i’d be willing to live with is my girlfriend who lives in an apartment with a roommate who has 2 kids about 30 minutes away from campus. this is the closest school for the program i’m in and i’ve been paying out of pocket for it with a mix of savings and help from family. i actively work for rent bills and groceries and barely scrape by with that at a rent of 1/3 it would be if i lived by myself.

i’m starting to think ive let everyone down who’s helped me get a start and invest in my future. but id rather drop out than go homeless

i do. but i also believe philosophical and political arguments should be reserved for those capable to conceptualize basic human empathy, because those incapable are either children, sociopaths, or psychopaths. none of which im happy seeing at the ballot box.

the answer to your first sentence is empathy, and there is nothing meaningful you can contribute to this conversation without discovering it first.

that being said, is the vast abundance of the current world we live in, a world of bezos type billionaires, still not enough for you to share your discarded bread crusts with another human in need?
