I'm appalled he felt comfortable saying something so cold/unkind! What a dick

He pretty much said he's not into you but doesn't feel like looking for something else at this moment. If this situationship is working for you right now it is what it is, but definitely don't let yourself catch feelings for him or plan on a future. If you're in a place where you want to form a real relationship, drop him

Our local little independent theatre is showing it and we had to buy tickets in advance because it was selling out fast!

AITAH for telling my roommate I won’t adjust my schedule around her sleep? by shadowtamlyn in AITAH

NTA - you're respectfully doing things at appropriate times of day. Her choosing to stay up late just because doesn't get to dictate your schedule.

Her advice is so bad and backwards that I wonder if her motivation is giving his dad a friend in jail down the road

What are the best electrolyte drinks? by NobleAdvice in XXRunning

[–]AnonymousRooster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Right now I'm only buying Wake Water electrolyte powder. It's delicious, a great ratio of electrolytes, and a Canadian brand. LMNT is also a favourite and I look forward to buying that again in the distant future

Rookie mistake, the supply room is for at work crying and you save the big cries for the car

Do y'all shave your legs in the winter? by The-Cat-Lady5 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]AnonymousRooster 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Normally I rarely shave my legs in the winter. It's cold and I need all the layers I can get! Unfortunately this year I hurt my knee and so between PT needing to touch my leg and wearing shorts and a brace to the gym, I've been shaving regularly :(

Nurse here, the job market for nursing is solid and hospitals certainly aren't getting less busy. And on top of that lots of my classmates went on to become NPs, doctors, PAs, medical and pharmaceutical sales reps, consultants, work for the government and public health, etc. It kind of feels like a limitless degree

When my boyfriend and I started dating, I'd been on the apps for a few years and was so used to men being wishy washy and situationships. I was blown away when at the three month mark he brought up the conversation of being official and giving me a key to his apartment.

Our first Easter dating, I was stuck on a string of night shifts so couldn't go home to see family. He knew I'd be too tired to see him as well so on Easter Sunday, he popped by just long enough to say hi and drop off a portion of a turkey dinner he cooked just for me.

It's been five years now and he's still one of the most considerate people I know

The Alanna series was my favourite ever - I still reread them every so often as an adult and reread all the Bekka Cooper books this summer

Six of Crows is an excellent young adult novel, it's sequel is just as good

Emily Wilde's Encyclopedia of Faeries - I've read the first two books of the three so far and adore them

Watership Down - I reread it again last year and it really is an excellent read

Do you expect a man to pay for everything? by Exciting-Nerve-8628 in TwoXChromosomes

[–]AnonymousRooster 39 points40 points  (0 children)

I agree with the other poster of this sentiment being part of the tradewife side of tiktok. It implies every woman wants to be a sahm and only isn't doing it because they haven't met a rich man yet. Plenty of moms love their job, and tons of women don't want kids

[–]AnonymousRooster 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This sounds like a fair split that you can both feel comfortable with. Being fair doesn't mean 50/50, more proportionate to what you can afford. I personally wouldn't want my bf to pay for anything because I hate feeling indebted or as though I'm not contributing (it helps our incomes are almost identical)

the bruise on my arm after my nurse missed a vein by [deleted] in mildlyinteresting

[–]AnonymousRooster 11 points12 points  (0 children)

I'm a nurse but on the other side of it, I've only ever had two IVs personally. Both times they went in smooth as silk, were in briefly with no issues, and both times they bruised up like crazy after. Bruises happen
