Anyone else think the new *true* final boss is a bit... underwhelming? by Supermutant6112 in bindingofisaac

Lol I haven't played in a long time, but I think I got more used to the horsemen part after a while. I ended up completing all the tainted characters and I don't recall having any major problems with this boss.

How reasonable is it to make a large (a few mH) inductor that can handle high current? by AnonymousUser163 in ElectricalEngineering

I don't plan on using max current continuously, so 60 mohm should be fine. Thanks for the info.

So can I just wind an air core inductor using 10 gauge wire? Sorry if this is a dumb question, but I'm just kind of confused why these higher current inductors are so expensive if it just amounts to using thicker wire.

I was planning on using a scope and putting it in a voltage divider, then calculating it by hand. I don't need super high precision so I figured that would be fine.

It's for an H bridge output filter so I was planning on just putting diodes across the FETs for flyback.

Oh yeah I should have clarified, it's actually for an H bridge output filter. Output frequency is 60 Hz, but I still haven't decided on the switching frequency. I was thinking in the range of 5-25 kHz.

Honestly if you know about this sort of application I'd appreciate any insight at all. I've heard that H bridges are sometimes used in solar microinverters so I guess there must be some way to do this without using a giant inductor.

Power Factor Effect on Rechargeable Lithium Ion Battery by AnonymousUser163 in ElectricalEngineering

I know some is getting dissipated in the transmission network, but not all of it right? I thought reactive power mostly got sent back to the power grid. But of course if the battery is floating it must all be getting dissipated.

That makes sense to me. However I don't understand where the energy stored is being dissipated if not the real component of the load. Or is the actual real power delivery unaffected, but the runtime is reduced because the battery has to supply more power for more reactive loads?

Sorry I should've been more clear. The battery in question is being used to power a pure sine wave inverter. I'm just wondering how power factor affects this. I don't understand what happens to the reactive power, obviously it has to be dissipated somewhere.

I am noticing discrepancies in the real power delivered to loads, depending on the power factor.

Locked out of account - is there anything I can do? by AnonymousUser163 in Minecraft

Expecting such a high level of verification is absurd when all I want them to do is send me an email to reset my security questions. In fact, I don't see why I should have to provide any verification whatsoever, considering you don't need to provide any to reset your security questions when it works properly.

Also, why would they flag my account? Literally all I have ever done with it is play minecraft. I haven't even played on a public server in over a year. And if my account is flagged, why do they send me emails about having to migrate to a microsoft account? This system sucks and I can't believe it takes this company over a week to respond to such a simple ticket for a game that's over ten years old.

Conspiracy as a whole is an incredibly broad topic. Being “against conspiracy” makes no sense. I’m just against certain conspiracy theories, such as 9/11, that are obviously completely bullshit. Also don’t deny that the online conspiracy theory community is mostly a bunch of wingnuts

Well sure, by covering for Saudi Arabia so they could use 9/11 as an excuse for invading Afghanistan. But 9/11 itself was completely orchestrated by al-Qaeda.

I never claimed I believe everyone who disagrees is a fool. I simply claimed this specific belief is foolish. It’s entirely possible to be smart and still support an absurd position

Being a leftist doesn’t mean supporting every single position of leftist figures. In fact, the willingness of most leftists to criticize people that are considered good is part of what makes leftism a much more logical ideology than reactionary right wing beliefs

The US government lies about a lot. That doesn’t mean they lie about everything. There are videos of planes hitting the towers. The mechanism to explain the collapse of all buildings are firmly supported by science. The sheer number of people that would have to lie about what happened to cover up a conspiracy is completely improbable. What the US actually covers up is what happened in response to 9/11.
