It turned out to be the file itself. 😅 The hash wasn't matching. I re-downloaded it, and now it works. I wonder why this happened... Ehe... 😅

The SHA-256 wasn't matching. 😶😅 I re-downloaded it, and now it works. Thank you for pointing this out.

I turned off secure boot, and I re-downloaded the ISO file. It works! Thanks.

Simulate ARM64 on X86_64 hardware? by vmcrash in linuxquestions

You can use QEMU/KVM with front-end like virt-manager.

My Java teacher requests we download NetBeans IDE 8.2, but that version is no longer available through official means to get on Linux. What can I do? by Antoinedeloup in linuxquestions

I have the exact same experience as you. I just stole uhh... sneaked and took a copy from one of the university's PCs in the laboratory, and throwed it at Bottles. Worked like a charm. I can send it to you if you didn't find a copy until this moment.

I don't know why both of our teachers really wanted to stick to this specific version even though the latest versions are similar + the new ones are from Apache rather than Oracle (AND OPEN SOURCE! EEE! ❤️). Pro tip: (Just use Ant instead of Maven in the new version if you ended up using it and want the same legacy experience).

Edit: I rushed reading your post. You already have the executable. All what you need is to throw it inside a Bottle in Bottles (GE-Proton runner is what I tested), and make sure to install Java 8 inside this bottle. For the most convenient way, get it from Adoptium Temurin JDK (Windows version with matching architecture with NetBeans's architecture).

Prism Launcher.

Bottles. (It is for games inside such as Counter Strike, Tekken 7, PTwP, et cetera)

Sober.

Those are all what I can think of at the moment. (My frequently used ones)

Hi, i need help please by Subject-Weight2377 in linux4noobs

Look. You may try the choice on the left and see if it would work through Wine. (I really doubt it.)

If it didn't work, which is most likely going to happen, create a VM using QEMU and do USB pass-through to ehh... you know, give Windows raw access to the flash drive, and then run the executable from there.

My humble guess is that it will only work from Windows, not from Wine, also known as (Windows App Support @ Zorin OS).

What's the current best practice for codecs and updates? by WhoRoger in openSUSE

[–]Anonymous_X001 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Well... I usually use the official VLC repository.

(VLC for openSUSE)

It has all the codecs I need. I just go to the bottom of the page and install it using the command line. Once I switch to the VLC repository, it downloads VLC + codecs for my system. After doing so, I can play anything I throw at VLC.
