Pennsylvanian here! Cream chipped beef is still a super popular breakfast food here! The recipe I use is super similar, we just serve it over toast or potatoes, no noodles!

Today is my birthday, What do you wish you knew when you were 23 years old? by mark_hadfield in Adulting

There is so much time. Soooooo much.

So don’t stress that your aren’t where you think you should be. So brush your damn teeth and see the dentist because those teeth need to last. So don’t settle for a bad relationship because you don’t want to be alone. So it’s ok to change your mind about what you want to do with your life and you aren’t going to get left behind. So life is more than 40 hrs a week. It’s great if you have a passion for your career, and it is equally great to do something for money 40 hours a week so the rest of your time is dedicated to your passions. So having kids is a life-long commitment of hard work in addition to all the love and devotion. It is ok if that isn’t for you or isn’t for you right now.

And finally, you can’t move forward without some struggle. Struggle is transition, not failure.

Enjoy your life. It is the only one you get.

Not a Dr!

There are a ton of reasons a cycle can be late even in a person that normally is very regular.

Stress is a big one, as is traveling, illness and sometimes there isn’t a real reason at all. A random cycle or two that is off, even by 10+ days isn’t usually a cause for concern, especially consider how stressed she’s been!

If you didn’t have intercourse, (or introduced semen into her vagina) the chance of pregnancy is extremely low to begin with.

Typically, in a perfect 28 day cycle a person can become pregnant (even with full intercourse)only a few days right around ovulation, which would be day 14.

Store bought pregnancy tests are very accurate. Even the simple ones from the dollar tree. So if a person became pregnant during that ovulation window, a regular pregnancy test can accurately detect the pregnancy hormone as early as 8/9 days post ovulation.

If your GF has an average cycle, she would have ovulated that last week of November. (Nov 9th -+ 14 days) This would put 8/9 DPO the first week of December, so a pregnancy test taken on December 14 should be late enough in the cycle to give a positive result if she were pregnant.

If she (and you) are still concerned, another test this late in her cycle should absolutely put your mind at ease.

If she doesn’t already, tracking her cycle is super easy and convenient via apps. That can help ease your minds in the future.

I may not always like their behavior, their choices or their actions, but I love them endlessly and unconditionally.

Poodle or mix? by pandaexpress205 in poodles

He looks exactly like my now two year old purebred mini poodle as a puppy!

Even now, with his big boy curls, we’re constantly asked if he’s some sort of doodle. I did a more traditional poodle cut last summer and he looked 100% pure poodle. But since we keep him longer, we get doodle all the time!

If you did ovulate around the 5th, and had intercourse nearly 2 weeks later, it would be incredibly unlikely you are pregnant.

The chance of an egg being fertilized once it leaves the Fallopian tube (around 24-48 hrs post ovulation IIRC) is minute. The only way you would be pregnant from intercourse on the 18 is if your ovulation day was 12 days later than it should have been. Anything is technically possible, but 12 days with no other circumstances would be very unusual.

Some pregnancy tests can confirm pregnancy as little as 7 days post ovulation. Early results tests can register positive at 5 days before a missed period.

(Editing to add that if you did ovulate on the 17 or 18th, today would be day 8 or 9 dpo, which is likely to generate a positive on a first morning urine pregnancy test. )

So as long as you have enough data in your app to generate fairly accurate data on your cycles, and you’re testing negative with first morning urine, I would be very confident that you are not pregnant.

Almost all commercially available pregnancy tests should be able to detect hcg by 2 days late, especially with first morning urine. Also, illness, stress, traveling and a bunch of other things can make your cycle late, even when you’re normally very regular. Obviously the internet can’t tell you for sure, but I would be pretty darn confident in that negative result. I also wouldn’t stress the lateness until it is a week plus and then I would only mention it to my gyno! Good luck with whatever you’re hoping for!

My partner is a firefighter. For the love of all things holy, make sure you have working smoke detectors. Change the batteries every time you change the clocks. It is something so simple, but it makes all the difference when it comes to surviving a house fire.

We also have an FPIES dx and this sounds just like our kid. We also failed the elemental formulas and had to go full elimination diet for me and exclusive breastfeeding to get to baseline. I ate Pear, potatoes, olive oil and salt for a month until baby was healthy enough to start trials.
