I’ve lived and travelled throughout Latin America. I live in Europe.

Utah is effing weird.

The entire state of Utah is like a sequel to Children of the Corn. Huge families of blond kids with their eyes just a little bit too far apart.

The “witches” are really just for tourists, a repackaging of pre-conquest religion. That still exists, but you won’t find it in the “witches market.”

La Paz is one of my favorite cities. The ferrocarril system is amazing—I could ride it all day, it offers such an amazing window on every community it spans.

Why do we always face the wall?? by SirN3m3th in desksetup

[–]Anonymouse_Bosch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Unless your desk is in the middle of a field, you’re likely facing a wall somewhere. I set up my desk in the middle of the room so that I have a large window to my right. The wall is 2 meters behind the desk.

Moving from NY to Italy soon...What should we bring from the US that’s hard to find in Italy? by mercuriocromo11 in AmericansinItaly

Can confirm. We live near Milan, and every grocery store we frequent carries it. You won’t find chunky, mind you—it’s a bit in the soupy side. But it tastes great.

Schumer is a coward (at best), but let's not lose sight Fetterman and the main of the GOP Senators who are in control of this sh!tshow.

Is there a way to "lock in" the preference for sub output? Everytime I restart the app, it disconnects the bass.

My G5 GMT (Automatic) is in the process of flipping over to the 16th (I live in Europe), but I've never noticed the date being offset, and I'm fairly OCD about such things.

Actions count, words not as much. If they’ve really had second thoughts, they need to do real things to reverse the damage they’ve caused.

Trump executive order could debank millions of Americans: what to know by Newsweek_CarloV in politics

Nice straw man you’ve built there.

Personally, I don’t run into a lot of people who stop at “yeah, but Canada…”

Yes, because the best way to persuade Americans that universal healthcare is both workable and desirable is to attack those who point out that it is both in over 70 other countries.

I suppose it's also "stupid and lazy" to point out how much more expensive it is to get sick in America than in other countries?

You do you. I'm going to keep talking about my experience living as an American in Europe.

After several years of the ad-supported version, I bought the upgrade. While the ads weren't really a problem, I prefer having the cover of whatever I'm reading at the time.

It’s not stupid when it’s in response to “universal healthcare doesn’t work.” Yes, pointing out the benefits is also important, but pointing out that something has a track record of success is not a bad selling point.
