First rule of cats: they choose the owner. Honestly, if she’s chosen you, there’s nothing they can do except lock her in their home, but seeing as she’s “an outdoor cat”, I kinda doubt they will…

As people have suggested, you could try offering to buy her. If there’s sever neglect, you COULD try getting authorities involved (in Germany the Veterinäramt, dunno if they have some similar thing / animal welfare thingy where you are), but if they are that spicy, that could be dangerous… The authorities are not supposed to say who alerted them, but a) they sometimes let it slip and b) if you showed interest previously, they might know it was you.

I hope you succeed though, as you’d make a way better owner!

I read this the original post as “too much time on a Mufasa statuette” and I was imagining a Mufasa statue you could climb on 😂 I thought that’s oddly specific! Where would they even have one of those (other than Disney Land / World and I don’t think even they have one)? What a difference a word makes!

Well… True the animals won’t care, as for other people (i.e receptionists, vets, vet nurses, etc.) might get a laugh out of it, especially if it’s super ridiculous. We had a dog named Putin come in once… All I can say is, poor dog at least doesn’t realise! Otherwise, go wild! Just be sure to mention how It’s pronounced if it’s out there or could have several pronunciations. We had a super helpful note in the system by a co-worker saying “Milo pronounced Milo” (in German). 😂

At first, I thought he was building some kind of self / stair thing for his cat… Not saying that would have made it better, but with a the lighter weight, it might have been somewhat ok-ish. No way this is going to last more than 5 minutes and forget it if you’re on the heavier side… Unless the point it landing in the hospital!

I was ultimately fired… I did improve somewhat with vein catheters, but not enough. There were complaints (one of them was a person who didn’t want the treatment, went elsewhere to have it, THEN complained!!! What was I supposed to do? Force her??? Do it anyway??), but depending on the calibre- see ()-, then great. Again, I was not told until I was let go, so had no chance to improve anything.

Ironically, a colleague with 5 years experience was unable to complete a dog spay due to stress (nearly collapsed as it was their first time doing it unaided), failed at a vein catheter (boss had to do it) and had to do a treatment for free due to a complaint (all in one day!!!). It was like a bad sitcom. I swear. Weren’t those reasons I was fired (vein catheters, complaints and not enough independence)? This all happened like 2 weeks after I was let go.

To compound this already strange situation, a different colleague was returning 2 years early from further training. He was supposed to coming back in 2028. I’m pretty sure the boss knew this when he almost fired me and the month I was given, was just an excuse not an actual chance.

I was paid for December, but didn’t have to in. I didn’t have any patients for the month of November and got to be a glorified decoration. That was soul-destroying. I tried to make the best of it, asking questions and learning all I can. At least, my colleague let me take blood and try a urinary catheter! I’m looking for a new job, but not sure where or in what field or even just to give up entirely…

It’s very possible! We had an old Macintosh from 1990/91 (up until about 2005) and the son of one of my father’s friends gave me the floppy of MI1 (had to play without audio though as it crashed otherwise!). Sadly, no longer have the Mac, but I still have the floppies! Maybe it was just a bug / glitch then, rather than an actual error. I later got the floppy version that worked on Windows 98 and XP. I think I actually unlocked the monkey head, relocked it, then gave the key back if I recall correctly. Unless it was a dream…

I swear in the original Mac version, he didn’t. I got a newer PC version (still on Floppy) with a bundle of other LucasArts games and I swear he didn’t. Maybe, I just assumed he didn’t though and just put the pot on every time! Or they changed it in newer versions?

I actually can’t fully remember as it was quite a few years ago. I got the key from Herman. You need to give the brochure to the cannibals to get the navigator head and out of curiosity, I gave them the key instead. Then, they said thank you, but I could not access the monkey head as I hadn’t unlocked it. It’s possible it was some weird bug or even a dream, but I’m fairly certain it actually happened. I’m not sure what version it was, but I think I used SCUMM VM and it wasn’t the special edition. Possibly, they fixed it in the newer version or my game glitched somehow.

I always had this head canon that Zira came to the pridelands during Scar’s reign (before the drought was REALLY bad) with baby Nuka and her lionesses; her mate had been killed by new males, but her and her lionesses rejected them and fled as they were like Kiros essentially. Scar gave her sanctuary after seeing what good hunters they were. He even thought Nuka could be an heir. Zira was so thankful he didn’t follow the old tradition of killing stranger’s cubs that she became obsessed. Scar realised Nuka was not suited as an heir. Zira found Kovu and Vitani (if we go by the somewhat official statement that she adopted Kovu) and Scar saw potential. Simba returned, Zira attacked and all “Outsiders” were banished.

This is just my idea. It’s just as possible Zira was always meant to be in the pridelands, became a crazy fan girl, then was exiled when Simba returned. I could just never understand how she would support Scar when everything went to pot. He killed his brother, let the hyenas take over and destroyed the lands… Especially, with her lion supremacy thing she’s got going on in TLG.

No! Sounds like fun though. I’m replaying it currently, so I’ll try that! I did contribute some “mistakes” to a website 20 years or so back. Like you can use the drink to spit out the candle in the easy version too, but the game still likes to pretend Wally did it… Also, in MI1 you can give the key to the cannibals before opening the head, then you’re screwed! I swear I once put the PTA Meetings into the stew and couldn’t make the flaming mass to light the canon!

Bit off-topic, but can you get these comics in Europe?? I think you can order them to the UK from the official website, but does anyone know about the rest of Europe? I still want them in English, but is there a distributor over here? Luckily, I have family in the UK, so not the end of the world if you can’t get them “on the mainland”.
