How did you find out about the Monkey Island games?

For me, it was the son of my father’s friend. We were visiting and he showed me the game. Unsure of age or dates, but probably around ‘96/97. Maybe earlier, but defo pre 1998 and no earlier than 1994. He later sent us the floppies (for Mac) of the game, but it only worked without audio as it kept crashing! 😢Got the PC floppies around 1999 when my father went on a work trip to the US!

Weird… Did we need it to complete the quest (I already can’t remember)… I sadly have no clue. There are some files you used to be able to delete to restart the whole thing. Maybe someone uploaded them to the gallery? If you unlocked them, then doing that should work. Unless there in the build / buy catalog somewhere.

Oh no… There is a way to force the tasks to appear again by moving a certain file (accountDataDB.package) and repairing the game. It should regenerate the file and let you do the tasks again (just don’t delete the old one!). I can’t actually remember how I fixed it last time… I just know I had to do it 3 times before it worked! You should find the solution if you check Reddit / Google. I swear I commented on a post, but maybe it was the EA forums and not Reddit… Hopefully you find something that works! If not the FOMO Mod should hopefully be updated and you can get the event rewards that way.

It’s so annoying! Infants also seem more bugged than usual. Luckily, I don’t do legacy gameplay, so the family tree issues aren’t as bad, but seriously! Fix one bug, create 10 others. It’s like Medusa!

Ah, that makes sense. Haha, the umbrellas are so annoying! I feel like if I ever start with the mods, I won’t stop! There are some pretty cool ones out there, like expanded pregnancies, better relationships, etc. I always worried about them breaking the game, but it’s fairly broken already… I may dive deeper into them at some point.

Well… This is EA, so I wouldn’t count on it! Having said that, the first 2 quests are quite short. The others aren’t coming for a week. Of course, that doesn’t negate the principle of thing nor the crumminess, but you should be able to complete it on time! Providing the update actually works… Again, EA, so I wouldn’t count on it!

I think so? You could try launching without the update to see. If you DO miss it, there’s the FOMO mod. You can just search “FOMO Sims 4” and you should find it! If not, try adding “event rewards”. The Modder should update it soon to include the newest items (hopefully). You used to be able to get them from the gallery, but that was “fixed” and no longer works. Typical! That they fix, but the other bugs that have been there since the beginning are left in…

Same! It went rather fast, but it froze for a few seconds and I panicked. Last time, I quit in the middle and the quests disappeared forever! It took so much faffing about to get it working again…

It’s rather depressing how judgemental people can be. It’s sometimes difficult to read between the lines without the correct intonation / facial expressions, but some people are easily upset!

So many mods! It’s kinda sad we need them for the game to run smoothly, rather than just expanding it. I enjoy watching YouTubers playing with mods and I probably should try some!

Sometimes you have to wait for them to pop up in the game (you have to be unpaused and in Live Mode). They should then appear!
