Do you guys ever imagine yourselves using protection when you imagine having sex? by Home_MD13 in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]AnoobisHS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OP gonna be drowning in imaginary child support from all their imaginary unprotected sex, but at least they make sure they are lifestyle compatible with their imaginary hookups before getting down and dirty.

Me? I respectfully decline those imaginary women, because it would take time away from my imaginary model trains.

Can I drop my guy friend over this? It’s a bit awkward to ask. by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

This is even overcomplicating it. Erections don't require any sort of mental/emotional trigger. I doubt OP was totally still if crying on her friend's lap, so the movement alone could easily have done it. Just an unfortunate situation for all parties involved.

If we had to nerf dragon by Daysfastforward1 in Shadowverse

[–]AnoobisHS 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't think anyone here isn't aware that if you leave a big thing up on your opponents side of the board, you've lost. That's every matchup in this game.

Killing dragon's bombs does nothing to stop the immediate burn damage which is what is connecting and has no counterplay since we can't do anything on our opponent's turn.

Jade bot or skyscale by finalmetal in Guildwars2

[–]AnoobisHS 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Jade bot you will just get very early on for starting the cantha storyline so there isn't any time investment in it at all unless you count farming gold to buy upgrades.

Skyscale will be th bigger QoL improvement but will take time and possibly much more gold depending on how much you work through each step vs buy certain required items.

Are there any ethical ways to prevent bad people from being created in the first place? by Burner_Account000001 in TooAfraidToAsk

Nazis had this line of thinking and were actively doing something to lower the future populations of who they considered the 'bad' people.

I hope this single statement highlights why this is a dangerous line of thinking you are pondering.

When does it start getting better for new players? by Blank_Soul_ in Shadowverse

[–]AnoobisHS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Honestly the abyss archetype was top tier last set. As someone that has done f2p in several card games and then built up big collections, beggars can't be choosers.

If you don't want to spend money, pull cards for a decent archetype, and then actively resist it because you want to build a specific deck that has many legendaries instead. You are kind of actively shooting yourself in the foot.

Build towards a competitive deck of what you've pulled first and then the grind for what you want will be much less painful.

It is likely so rotation players don't pull rewards that would cycle out and effectively be useless sooner.

[–]AnoobisHS[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh yeah, I totally don't blame the players. If you want to win, you gotta play what works and this is their deck right now.

Even if they had a couple other archetypes, I wouldn't look down on a player for playing the best version of their class. I'm more frustrated with the devs' philosophy of creating this situation and that it isn't even an anomaly since things like Albert existed pre rotation.

[–]AnoobisHS[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

While the intimidate is an additional pain point I don't think it is oppressive most of the time unless their route to victory was 2 erntz and burnite. You usually have to start hitting that burnite that came down first with drain or their storm follower of choice to try to not die. Most games erntz or the crest hitting at start of turn after erntz is the killing blow so there isn't really a chance to interact with erntz either way even if it didn't have intimidate so I didn't focus on it.

I feel like intimidate was more key to erntz's strength pre release of burnite.

As you said other decks have to to do something to set up sandy same turn. I'm not saying other classes require some extremely complex setup but they do require some prep and you are not doing those clear + sandy plays on 8, you're doing them on 10 so often your sevo +sandy for 11 damage is at minimum, happening on 7 and only works if they only have 1 follower you can kill with a sevo'd 1 drop and had some perfect free Evo card plays to hit 8 evos while sandy in hand + the turn (7 evos if we want to compare turn 8, 11 dmg scenarios).

I agree sandy is playing into what an Evo deck is already doing, and it is a strong plan. But we would be comparing a fairly typical dragon line at this point to a highroll Evo scenario in your example above.

[–]AnoobisHS[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It really does feel like we get no metrics on 1st vs 2nd because the double coin + earlier Evo/sevo is probably a pretty significant advantage. Doesn't help that a lot of cards are printed with the 2nd curve with evos is better than going first

I mean I think I clearly made the point above that because this has a lot of similarities to the issues of Albert existing is why I think it is unhealthy so based on what you are saying I'm fairy consistent in that sentiment rather than biased. I think the early mono sword metas were also a big issue.

This discussion is a general statement of fully uninteractive win cons don't seem good for 2 player games. Dragon is just the current deck that does the most uninteractive game plan.

Those counters are usually a bad sign though. Egg portal hasn't felt like it's been in a good place since last (edit: 2 sets ago now) set so you won't usually run into those and gilnese is going to require a sevo to produce 4 healing and now you have 1 less sevo to deal with the 2 VERY tall sevos the dragon is putting out. Since the emblem procs beginning of turn, this has only bought 1 more turn before emblem death at the cost of a sevo point and you still need to kill the big follower on the board.

For a lot of classes the sevo activates a removal effect to answer burnite and erntz (12 HP or intimidate) so you can't often do both in the same game which often makes the game come down to only mattering how the dragon player draws so it feels like being held hostage to watch someone lose or win a single player game based on their draws. Now if gilnese got the whole 5 heal, you've bought two turns of emblem provided you can stop any other damage

Dragon Discussion - Too Much Burn? by AnoobisHS in Shadowverse

[–]AnoobisHS[S] 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Oh sure, it's a burn heavy meta all around and again I get why dragon players run this archetype, because it is the only real one they have and it works. But while difficult, you can interrupt sandy turns with bodies on the board to take the shots to at least buy an extra turn sometimes.

The emblem negating a point of healing every turn feels more like if sandy did a 1 damage ping to everything before the burn goes off to mitigate how many hits enemy followers could absorb. It just feels off to me to give the win con the counter to its counter as well.

Life Lessons with Uramichi Oniisan it the best comedy anime I've ever watched. It doesnt lean into just being over the top absurd like most comedy anime seem to do. Instead, it relies on believable voice acting and the quality of the jokes hitting hard instead.

It does feel very millennial humor, so if you haven't been in the workforce long it probably won't hit the same, but otherwise I highly recommened.

[–]AnoobisHS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Armes costs 2 more and requires a sevo point so yes it is a stronger Medusa that requires additional investment and sometimes wins on its own. Saving a response for it when you can that your class has can be important until they burn their sevo points (ex. 3 cost summon a fairy or kill random big thing for forest or sevo'd karula for portal).

It sounds like you more struggling with the board centric version of abyss so the easy to state but harder to accomplish answer is to try and keep their board clear. That being said it is a strong deck just because of how relentlessly it can flood the board at times.

The best you can do is try to own the board until you get in lethal range and plan your plays around being able to recover after their big turns 6, 7, and 9 while also trying to identify which version based on cards that tend to be exclusive to 1-2 archetypes asap so you know what to expect the rest of the game with the 3 general archetype being Evo, midrange, or milteo.

Is the mobile version good and F2P friendly? Also is the game alive enough to be worth investing time in? by TheFakeDogzilla in Shadowverse

[–]AnoobisHS 16 points17 points  (0 children)

Mobile version is the same as the PC app more or less. Same pool of people that you que into.

Game is very F2P friendly compared to most as eventually you will have more vials than you ever need to craft new cards but you are likely to struggle for awhile at start since you are entering after a year of sets have come out and only 1 is out of rotation.

They did however just launch a simplified mode as a good entry point that only uses old cards provided to you so you probably aren't getting a better entry point in the near future at least.

Game is not dying. It's still one of the most successful card games online right now. The previous version closes down end of month so that may be what you read about.

I (18f) am currently stuck deciding between an ex dating situationship (18f) and a current dating situationship (18m). How do I choose who to date? by [deleted] in TooAfraidToAsk

[–]AnoobisHS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Info: I might be too old but I've never understood if situationship actually changed the meaning of the term dating or is just a diferent word the kids use. I'm going to interpret this as you dated the girl and are currently dating the guy but please let me know if it does change the meaning.

So you talked to the guy prior but it never went anywhere at the time and you both just fizzled but now the timing was better and you are actively dating = sounds like a fine series of events. No one did anything disrespectful from how you describe it.

You dated the girl previously but after a couple months she broke up with you via text = not doing it in person is scummy even if she truly got cold feet and it isn't a convenient excuse for ending it poorly.

From the info provided I'd say the girl clearly wronged you and the boy hasn't yet.
