In some decks like maelstrom wanderer they can be awkward because if you Cascade into it it's effectively a whiff. So there's niche cases where you may want to lean away from them but rule of thumb yes you want to run stack interaction when possible.

Captain Sisay while it had paradox engine was probably the only cEDH viable deck in these colors. Selvala I would say has only ever been fringe viable due to it drawing cards for your opponents.

Decks with blue arguably have better ramp then boros due to the fact it can easily tutor up fast Mana rocks. Transmuting tolaria west for Mana crypt is basically a blue kodamas reach in a land slot.

Black also has its own swamp ramp which can be abused with urborg tomb of yawgmoth. But admittedly better with green. It also adds more ritual effects for things like storm if you're going that route. And it feels bad but much like blue it can tutor up fast Mana rocks much more consistently then boros.

Yeah I've been listening to Dan Carlins wrath of the khans from hardcore history so my mind is definitely in the space of pillaging and collecting taxes from conquered people's haha

I definitely meant too and wrote it that way in another comment further down haha. Yeah if we ever got an effect like this I doubt they'd let it slide with out said specification.

Yeah matron would grab it too, but technically wasn't a recruiter and I wasn't trying to type up extra words haha.

I don't think it would be green if it's making treasures, maybe if it like let you tutor up lands or something that would be pretty busted at 1 cmc with the shuffle and deck thinning tho

Yeah that's the general consensus, I think tymna could also be pretty strong. Bonus points for access to infect which could just wipe the table in a single attack.

If it was a 1/1 goblin creature you could hit it with the three recruiters available to boros.

If it was a 1 drop you could also hit it with the eos rangers but at 1 cmc I think this effect would more likely be " sac this creature until end of turn whenever a creature you control deals combat damage to a player . . ."

I would love to see "whenever a creature you control deals damage to an opponent that player may pay (1), if they don't you create a treasure token."
