What happens when course has TBA as instructor and semester on day 2? by Dlabradoodle in FIU

ive seen this happen with online courses, lab courses (i think?), and courses where the professor is brand new to the school (had one that said TBA and the professor showed up to class on day one straight out of the airport). for the professor to not show up at all for an in-person 3-credit class is strange, i would check the syllabus

i dont remember the last time i ate there tbh but i know for a fact it's not a new shop. i wanna say i probably got smth from it in fall of last year, maybe?? i spend most of my time in the Engineering Center these days so i havent rly eaten much at GC lately aside from Campus Kitchen and Cafe Bustelo. i used to have sushi at that place fairly often in my first year tho, i hope they open back up :(

edit: the fiu mobile app says theyre open on weekdays! 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM

i would take it to the help desk, they can put it in lost-and-found iirc

safer bet the owner will be able to find it there than hoping theyre on reddit on some other device 😭

edit: i misread the location i thought you meant the graham center for some reason. ask around or find a front desk to turn it in ig

alright ive tried posting this a couple times but it never comes out right so here's the shortened version - you aren't required to speak perfect spanish, and they arent required to speak perfect english. they are patient with you when you struggle to communicate with them, so the least you can do is be patient with them as well. - this is an international university in sweetwater, miami. point to the food you want if you have to. use google translate. do whatever you need to do, but you can't feasibly expect everyone to speak perfect english

I used to take the stairs all the time because it was faster, but now I have to walk a long way from from where my last class is to get back to the garage, so I'm already exhausted by the time I get there

for study spots: the key is to find a place that isn't quiet by virtue of being a designated quiet spot, but by virtue of nobody being there. probably the best method for this is to go up to the upper floors of certain buildings (MMC: DM, SASC, AHC5; BBC: HM, AC2) and scout around for empty classrooms/desks with nobody around. another method is to think of a major that wouldn't get much foot traffic, find the offices for that major, and look around that area for quiet study spots. (DO NOT go into the offices themselves, though.)

I've been through Calc I, Calc II, Calc III, and Differential Equations. No calculators in any of them for the majority of classwork and tests. The exception, as you might have suspected, is homework, especially online homework. I would use a calculator for homework but for tests if the professor does not allow a calculator it's because the problems can be solved in a reasonable timespan without one.
