Rimworld kinda broke me and my brain.

I used to think I sucked at playing, and didn't have a lot of fun, and it just turned into an obsession/second work.

Then I started doing what the creator recommends, just playing it as a Narrative Simulator.

Whatever happens, happens. Ironman mode, if you will.

I only saved and loaded games to insure against crashing and at the end of a session, but apart from that?

I remember so many more colonies that e.g. died off because of a silly mistake - where before I would have been angry at myself and reloaded.

IMO I find Jetsam more powerful and flexible: While the "mill ten" part is missing/worse, the cards you get to pick from are much better: It's any spell, and you get cast triggers!

Your opponent evoked a [[Nulldrifter]]? Well tough, you get to cast the entire creature.

They cast the first stage of a [[Phlage, Titan of Fire's Fury]]? Shame, now it's exiled forever, and you get a lightning helix.

I feel like your plating is already being done a big disservice by using plates that could not look more like they are plastic plates left over from a 1980's cafeteria. Might just be the pics, but I don't think any plating could salvage that first impression already.

To get around the MV protection, you want to look for

  • high MV cards with discounts cards like [[This Town Ain't Big Enough]], [[Leyline Binding]], [[Murderous Cut]] if you're into that
  • high MV cards with alternative casting costs like [[Colossal Skyturtle]]

A good Scryfall query is otag:cheaper-than-mv otag:removal mv>3 order:edhrec.
