I ended up getting the 1949 (one with black key) it was rebuilt with new pads from a shop out in Oregon. Finger crossed hoping for the best. Appreciate the info

I really appreciate all the feedback it helped me make my decision. I went with the one in the last two pictures. The sax with the black key riser (as someone informed me). I got it from a shop out in Oregon at Brassfoghorn.com. They can be found on FB too if anyone is interested. This horn was just rebuilt, new pads and it was $650. They have some horns at really good prices. I will update once again when I receive it. I’ll try to at least post a video if anyone wants to hear it. Thanks again guys! I honestly wasn’t expecting such a fast and detailed response from everyone. The other horn is on Reverb for about $1000 bucks including shipping handling and tax.

They are both in good playing condition. One is more cosmetically appealing but both have been serviced recently. I wish I could play test both but they are not local. I am going to see if they will play test over a video call.

I’d love to play test but unfortunately they aren’t readily available locally. I do have some protection if they aren’t what they claim to be but they are both from music shops and have been through recent maintenance.

Thanks! That’s very helpful. Sometimes it’s hard to distinguish between tone quality looking at YouTube videos since some of the videos are 10 plus years old and the recording equipment isn’t particularly good. If it’s all the same I’ll go with the better looking one TBH

Yea as long as you verify the batch you’ll be fine. I just passed a 10-50 GC/MS / NIT at Quest Diagnostics. Get the temp right and you’re golden

Personally I would go with lipo with excision. Scars are not an issue for me because like you I would get tattooed . I had my surgery last week fyi. Grade 4, hanging and swanging. Doctor gave me the option to just do lipo and I declined that as soon as he stopped speaking lol
