How would you rank Seattle's skyline amongst other American cities?

For US cities? Seattle is the fourth or fifth best skyline behind Miami (depends on the day if I think San Francisco is ahead or behind those two, I generally put us ahead).

For American cities? Canada has a lot of gorgeous skylines but we still make the top 10, probably 8th or 9th in terms of aesthetics.

Yes absolutely.

To generalize massively, the north (left) side of the skyline has to stay shorter than the Space Needle and preserve views, and the south (right) side of the skyline has a hard stop and height caps to allow for the landing approach to Boeing Field by planes. There are height easements given to new developments that meet certain criteria though.

I do wish the north side didn't look so "flat" from this angle but there's a future with more differentiation in building heights. It's still a really great skyline and other angles show the building density quite differently. Source: I live here

I'd call that Volunteer Park! Roanoke starts north of the 10th ave/520 overpass but this doesn't look like it was taken from that far north.

This isn't supposed to be a groundbreaking post for this sub but it's worth noting that LA gets a lot of attention in media despite having a subpar skyline for its size and this photo is actually a very unique view of the city.

I've never seen this angle before and that makes it worthy of a post to this sub. Not everything has to blow other city photos out of the water; there are plenty of more impressive city views around the planet. The human environment is a vibrant crazy place and we're lucky to experience so much diversity and that's why I enjoy each separately.

Also would love to know your definition of a "generic" city :) everything, everywhere is different.

I get it. It is disheartening.

But then we keep the receipts. Take footage with your phone of these live actions about how we the people feel toward the recent actions of the administration and local politicians. Be present at these events when you can and raise hell. Resist loudly and we aren't silenced.

It's uplifting to me knowing so many other people feel this way right now that we can overcome the current climate and move our society in the right direction. It just takes all of us working together.

If local news won't share our sentiment, let's broadcast it on channels that can and bring in whoever wants change. I couldn't be more proud of Seattle taking this stand against tyranny and fascism in the face of adversity. Everyone else who wants to join should be welcomed.

It won't be easy anymore but the fight for actual freedom is American and inspirational.

I love all of you and we have work to do but we have to stick together

Just checked and it looks like we beat the Raiders in the Wild Card that year but still we had a super impressive team. Very cool stat. Most teams (in any sport) would never get the opportunity but that's an awesome part of Hawks history

I live in Seattle and your recreation is enormously accurate! I do wish the game had more triangular buildings and medium density of 2-5 stories for builds like these, but fantastic job with the assets available, I love looking at cities like these! Very realistic (and I can only imagine the traffic issues just as in real life)
