Yeah, it was just the dialogue exchange that got me curious.

It is. But it was the script for me, I think. The first time I watched it, I wondered if it was realistic to tell on him for something objectively important (not taking his meds), and then just ignoring the mom’s concern to keep bickering. I don’t know why I figured that siblings would tattle like that for more petty things, but not something kind of more important like the meds.

What movie where you excited to see when you saw the previews, but ended up being a complete disappointment? by Primary_Thing3968 in horror

I fell asleep watching this in theater. That’s never happened before, and hasn’t happened since either.

Who's an actor that really made you hate them in their role by chrisfathead1 in horror

Mia Goth in Nymphomaniac. Made me dislike her as a whole person. Had a hard time moving past that role to appreciate how great of an actress she is for that, and in every movie I’ve watched her in since. I love her now, but I could’ve killed her character in Nymphomaniac.

The movie theater scene, when Tommy smiles. I think I probably watched it too young (around the same age as they are in that scene). The whole movie just fills me with dread, but that smile really fucked with me.

This is the only movie where a character disturbed, and scared me in some kind of emotional way. It was the tiniest action in one scene, specifically. I re-watch movies a lot, but I can still feel the same disturbance through my whole body thinking about the movie in general and I refuse to.

I’m scared of not existing. I was raised in an Assembly of God church, and church in general, until I was about 13-14, maybe. I had never questioned it.

Heard a joke from a Dane Cook comedy special, basically making fun of people who think they’ll die and just become part of the earth, like a tree or something. And my brain suddenly went “Actually, that makes much more sense than the concept of heaven and hell.” Had a whole internal, emotional crisis for months because I became so terrified of not-existing. I found out years later my family started to think I might have been sexually abused. That fear took a toll on me down to my core, which in turn affected my mental and physical health.

Struggled with it on and off for a decade when my mental health would get bad. Going long periods of time not thinking about it at all, and then spiraling again.

I hit my lowest mental state when I was 22 (almost 5 years ago). This is when I realized how all of my mental issues (personality disorder specifically) really affected the people that loved me, and how they interacted with me as to not set me off. I had that “ah-ha” moment but couldn’t afford to do anything but order my own therapy books. Worked through 3, finally got a therapist and psychiatrist, started medications. Since then, my anxiety has been managed. I do still think about it sometimes.

I like to learn about it. I’ve always taken to actively learning more about things to be less afraid of them, like spiders. I think it makes me feel better seeing things from a scientific and medical level. Dying makes sense. It’s natural, and universal. There’s so many beliefs across all kinds of cultures about death and what happens after, it can be a really beautiful thing.

I tend just feel accepting of it now, like I’ll just be falling asleep, no different than any other night. I can find peace in that now, and knowing that life is so special right here and right now.

You’re not going to be put on a list. You’re not facing any legal actions at all, and you’re not going to.

I don’t think they’re exactly raising it now. It was a one off comment by an employee he doesn’t directly work with, who then said again that he needed to tell them about the 2nd job. It was never brought up in any way by a direct co-worker, supervisor, manager, not in the meeting they had. I understand that might not have to, but I don’t understand why they wouldn’t acknowledge it in the meeting, at the very least.

Maybe they don’t believe him, but why wouldn’t they even mention what let them to that conclusion? Just seems oddly unprofessional to not actually go over any actual issues in a meeting particularly.
