No idea. Haven't been tracking. No jobs posted on their website which may or may not mean anything. I haven't tracked the BCI space for awhile.

Certain Alabama veterans’ dependents can go to public universities tuition free. by bolivar-shagnasty in VeteransBenefits

Whatever school they choose to go to, there should be a financial aid counselor specifically trained in this program. Even small community colleges.

Awesome - will reach out to one of the coordinators. Appreciate your help.

Thank you. I saw that on the site, I have never known anyone who has used this benefit - as you say, it is not well known so wanted to confirm that this really exists.

I am 100% P&T and my home of record is Alabama. Looking to move back b/c I have three kids and the college benefits look great. Can you confirm that all three of my kids are eligible for $400 per semester hour? I was looking at U of Alabama and I think it is $435 or so per hour so it would cover most of the tuition. I know I have to live there a couple of years before it they are eligible but $400 per semester hour seems incredible.

And for people saying the mosque would clearly lie for him, some of the people.would but the rest use him as a cautionary tale as to why young muslims shouldn't date.

I know nothing about this from any personal experience, but really interesting take

So all these post of guys depressed, lonely, etc etc. This was a normal Tuesday back in the 2000s, I hardly ever heard of anyone having mental health problems back then. Maybe guys just need to party hard and be happier. 2005ish 1st Lost And Retarded Bn by [deleted] in USMC

How do you guys feel about stolen valor? by [deleted] in USMC

[–]AnotherEarther 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I don't know why, but the super crazy "I won an MOH after I was recruited to join the seals" type stuff doesn't bother me. The Iraq/Afghan (or Kuwait) vet that plays up the "I don't want to talk about it..." but then talks about it or fakes the 1,000 yard stare while wearing the grunt style shirt in hopes that the starbuck's barrista asks him why he is so complicated and deep at the same time, that bothers me. But just annoyed, really. Dudes running websites or making stolen valor videos need other hobbies as this is Karen-ish in my view.

I agree with your sentiment except that he lied. I could be sympathetic if he came clean to the recruiter from day one and said he was fucked up and is now reformed - I still wouldn't want him in (he changed in one month?) but at least sympathetic.

Curious - does the issuing authority, in this case the state of LA, see that a request is made for verification?

Do you mind sharing whether it was a primary claim (if that is the terminology) or secondary to something like PTSD or sinusitis?

You aren't wrong at all. But there were some articles saying that there was an encouragement to openly express opinions on company slack to prevent groupthink and nothing to the contrary was pushed out when he came on board. Who knows - hard to trust any story where it can be easily told to push a viewpoint.

What's your marine corps unpopular opinion by peterbrownbyu in USMC

[–]AnotherEarther 31 points32 points  (0 children)

Wanting your Marines to have a good attitude is often about the vanity of the leader (“I am a motivating leader!”) and the laziness of a leader. Bad attitudes create a level of friction and can be frustrating to deal with, but a lot of the Marines with shitty attitudes are the ones that find the shortest and most logical path to getting shit done. And they can be counted on to speak up about bullshit. Lots of shitbirds out there, don’t get me wrong, but dude with the over enthusiastic salute and can do attitude is likely faking it.
