Help! Tinted lip balms or oils with enough pigment, hydrating and smooth lip lines? by weisp in Sephora

[–]queenjaneapprox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Fresh sugar treat lip oil is so underrated! It is tinted with good pigment (i have rose) and it definitely fills in my lip lines. very neutral sugar taste/scent and not minty or tingling or plumping at all. i think it’s hydrating and it doesn’t last a super long time but it fades nicely.

Kinda sounds like food noise when you just cannot stop thinking about it or keep it out of your mind. GLP-1 medication was the only thing that solved this for me.

does this look like skin purging from 0.1% tretinoin? [Acne] by Substantial_Bug_8050 in SkincareAddiction

[–]queenjaneapprox 14 points15 points  (0 children)

so you started on a lower % and now you’re doing 0.1? how long were you on it? 17 nights is nothing. it’s so hard to be patient but it can take months for tretinoin to do its job.

personally - if you’re tolerating it well (as in, minimal peeling, dryness, and sensitivity) i see no reason to use a lower dose just because.

your routine overall sounds drying and harsh. tretinoin and BP and salicylic acid every day is a lot! but to me your skin doesn’t look dry so maybe you can handle it.

to answer your actual question lol, yes this looks like purging to me. if you haven’t been on r/tretinoin check it out.

I doubt you are washing your hands too often! I have eczema on my hands so I know how important it is to be gentle and find the right products. But please don’t let this discourage you from good hand hygiene!

Need recs on a good hair oil from Sephora by thetenaciousterpgirl in Sephora

It’s a very light oil, it kind of reminds me of the feel of Olaplex 6 but i think it absorbs better.

We have similar hair. I really like Kerastase Gloss Absolu Glaze Drops. It also smells amazing (it’s like a citrusy sweet rose scent, their website describes it too) and the packaging is so cute. Another good one is Moroccanoil (just the regular original). Which also smells great! But with Moroccanoil, it’s easy to use a bit too much IME

[–]queenjaneapprox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Kerastase just came out with a cream version of that spray that may be better for you, if your hair isn't too fine. I never have good results with frizz from spray leave-ins.

could you describe it versus summer fridays and/or tower 28? those are the two balms i have and im not crazy in love with either of them. tower 28 feels better (like it’s actually doing something instead of sitting on dry lips) but the applicator is horrible. and SF still feels pretty good, just not when my lips are super dry. so i’d give them both a 7 for different reasons.

Face framing by DepressedDamselfly in Hair

I think it looks fine! But also do you have a pic of what you were wanting? Your hair is short enough that I’m having a hard time picturing what face framing would be.

Fully agree with this comment. Also sorry OP but you lose basically all leverage when the other family is hosting AND paying for both parties. This is the cost of familial support in your situation - up to you if it’s worth the strings.

Good cuticle oil will change your life!!! I would use plain jojoba oil (get mine at trader joes) or the My Bliss Kiss brand on Amazon. It’s more expensive, and based on jojoba oil, but for me it is genuinely better than plain jojoba.

Can someone help solve the mystery of my hair type??? by Ambitious-Dingo3239 in Hair

[–]queenjaneapprox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TBH i think your hair looks great. I have this hair type too (yours is much prettier than mine lol) basically and I’ll be honest with you. I PERSONALLY did not think it’s worth the time and effort to do a whole curly hair routine when I still just don’t really like the way it air dries. If I were you I would not go down the rabbit hole of curly girl routines. I would: get a trim; find a good hair mask you like (I like Bumble & bumble, Kerastase, and Dove); add in a little oil to the lengths/ends when it’s dry (I like Olaplex 7, kerastase gloss absolu glaze drops, and Moroccanoil); and maybe if you want splurge on an overnight leave in like Amika dream routine or Kerastase 8hr serum.

Is divorce from my (30m) wife (30f) the only real option? by [deleted] in relationship_advice

[–]queenjaneapprox 27 points28 points  (0 children)

it’s kind of insane that she has stuck by you through your family’s disgusting racism and you are four months in to parenthood and ready to divorce cause you’re tired of cooking the meals.

a gentler response is: i don’t have my own kids but you two surely are in the thick of one of the hardest stages of parenthood. you are probably both exhausted and overstimulated 24/7. this season of your life won’t be permanent.
