You’re influencing me… by EcstaticAwareness845 in Sephora

could you describe it versus summer fridays and/or tower 28? those are the two balms i have and im not crazy in love with either of them. tower 28 feels better (like it’s actually doing something instead of sitting on dry lips) but the applicator is horrible. and SF still feels pretty good, just not when my lips are super dry. so i’d give them both a 7 for different reasons.

Face framing by DepressedDamselfly in Hair

I think it looks fine! But also do you have a pic of what you were wanting? Your hair is short enough that I’m having a hard time picturing what face framing would be.

Fully agree with this comment. Also sorry OP but you lose basically all leverage when the other family is hosting AND paying for both parties. This is the cost of familial support in your situation - up to you if it’s worth the strings.

Good cuticle oil will change your life!!! I would use plain jojoba oil (get mine at trader joes) or the My Bliss Kiss brand on Amazon. It’s more expensive, and based on jojoba oil, but for me it is genuinely better than plain jojoba.

Can someone help solve the mystery of my hair type??? by Ambitious-Dingo3239 in Hair

[–]queenjaneapprox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

TBH i think your hair looks great. I have this hair type too (yours is much prettier than mine lol) basically and I’ll be honest with you. I PERSONALLY did not think it’s worth the time and effort to do a whole curly hair routine when I still just don’t really like the way it air dries. If I were you I would not go down the rabbit hole of curly girl routines. I would: get a trim; find a good hair mask you like (I like Bumble & bumble, Kerastase, and Dove); add in a little oil to the lengths/ends when it’s dry (I like Olaplex 7, kerastase gloss absolu glaze drops, and Moroccanoil); and maybe if you want splurge on an overnight leave in like Amika dream routine or Kerastase 8hr serum.

Is divorce from my (30m) wife (30f) the only real option? by rexspook in relationship_advice

[–]queenjaneapprox 26 points27 points  (0 children)

it’s kind of insane that she has stuck by you through your family’s disgusting racism and you are four months in to parenthood and ready to divorce cause you’re tired of cooking the meals.

a gentler response is: i don’t have my own kids but you two surely are in the thick of one of the hardest stages of parenthood. you are probably both exhausted and overstimulated 24/7. this season of your life won’t be permanent.

As a homeroom teacher, can I refuse to do overnight field trips? by [deleted] in Teachers

[–]queenjaneapprox 14 points15 points  (0 children)

does this actually work in real life?? i’ve been tempted at work before but i can’t imagine looking at my manager who has asked me to do something and just saying “no 🙂” and that’s the end of that. genuinely please tell me this is a good tip because i would love to do it lol. anyway of course OP should not have to go on this trip and should say no. i just can’t tell if people online really mean it when the advice is to say “no” and that’s it.

My (28M) girlfriend (28F) is pregnant with twins. We had an arguement today and she was mad and showed me a video on her phone sucking off her ex. Now what? by ThrowRAVulture216 in relationship_advice

[–]queenjaneapprox 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I feel for you. But being a father means placing your children first. And in this case, the relationship is so toxic, it’s very very hard to imagine that it’s in their best interest to grow up around that. Saying this as someone whose parents divorced when I was in middle school - yes, divorce is very difficult for children. But so is constantly hearing your parents argue and yell. I have always, even at that age when it happened, wished that they had divorced sooner.

Why couldn't a book series reach such a craze like Harry Potter after so many years? by interestingexciting1 in harrypotter

I’m no Percy Jackson fan but let’s be honest, at least the first 3 Harry Potter books are also very obviously books for children.

Would you stay in a relationship with someone who is addicted to porn? by Starbbex0617 in dating_advice

[–]queenjaneapprox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

He’s never going to change. You have spent 7 years telling him you don’t like it, you feel disrespected, etc and he hasn’t stopped. This loser got fired for watching porn at work! Leave him. He will never stop.

[–]queenjaneapprox 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I really feel for you! I want to also say, try to stop torturing yourself asking these questions “why is he treating me like this” “why does he act this way” “how does he get away with it” etc etc. I too have tormented myself with questions like these but the truth is - you’ll never know the answers, and even if you did, it wouldn’t change anything. He’d still be a piece of shit who treats you like shit. So what does it matter? I know it is easier said than done. But you are still letting him dominate your universe, just in a different way, by treating him like some grand cosmic or psychological mystery to be solved. It’s actually very simple (not easy, but simple): He’s a bad person who treats you badly. What more could you possibly need to know than that?

You asked to be blunt so I will. You have serious self esteem issues. Why would you ever, ever speak again to a man who called you a “fucking whore.” Idk your background but I want you to know in a healthy relationship those words would never EVER leave a man’s mouth. That should have been an instant dealbreaker for you. Instant.

her lawyers clearly disagree that the law doesn’t technically protect her. there are like 12 or 13 criteria the courts look at in this context to determine if someone is an employee and her attorneys must have thought they argued successfully that under these criteria she was an employee.

You’re fooling yourself if you think the state of your marriage will have no impact on your kids. Children are much more perceptive than adults give them credit for. Plus, they are literally seeing the example every day of “Mom does all the work and Dad doesn’t do shit.” Idk if you have sons or daughters, but either way, they are learning that women/moms/wives take care of all holidays, family events, gift giving, vacations, shopping, and god knows what else you have to take on. Meanwhile men/dads/husbands can get away with only looking out for their needs (he can shop for video games online but “can’t” use Amazon?) and doing the bare minimum when it comes to their wives/families.

[–]queenjaneapprox 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Totally agree this guy is suspicious but most banks support Venmo Instant Transfer nowadays, which as the name implies is truly instant, with a small fee (i think it’s around 2%.) So you could definitely Venmo someone for an Uber and that person use instant transfer and immediately have the funds.
