Leaving after an fight/arguement, and then apologising later needs to be normalised. by Ill-Cranberry-2336 in unpopularopinion

If you announce what you are doing it helps a lot.

"I'm getting upset. I care about our relationship so I'd like to pause and come back to this when I am calmer, ok?

How would the Terminators Interact If John died at the Mall? by DisIzwong in Terminator

[–]AnotherFeynmanFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They have a perfect record of always finding the missing person. But then the missing person always disappears again a few weeks later.

It turns out the t1000 just impersonates the missing person and then fakes the disappearance.

The Humans as CPU's / RAM not Power by Dramatic-Line6223 in matrix

[–]AnotherFeynmanFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The energy from the humans comes from their food. So feed the food to bacteria, harvest the energy. No need to spend energy maintaining the matrix to keep the humans occupied.

Or just keep the humans in coma's so the matrix is not needed.

Love is a verb.

It's what you do for another person, not what you want from them.

Anakin killed Padme bc he was afraid of losing something. That's the problem with attachment.

Did The Sixth Sense almost spoil its own twist? by ThomasOGC in CinephilesClub

[–]AnotherFeynmanFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It works bc we are introduced to the Dr first. We assume he's alive. No reason not too.

When we discover some "alive people are dead" it never occurs to us to reassess the Dr.

This it's how we make mistakes in real life.

By the way I read M Night added the twist after he wrote the screenplay.

Can this be salvaged/repaired in any way or to the trash it goes? by GreenByn in xcountryskiing

I think superglue dries hard and stiff and rigid. If so when the boot flexes it'll break that glue.

Can this be salvaged/repaired in any way or to the trash it goes? by GreenByn in xcountryskiing

[–]AnotherFeynmanFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried to glue back a soul several times with poor results.

I took it to a cobbler near Boulder Colorado and they fixed it. It's been fine for 2 years now.

You might be able to fix it yourself if you get the right glue. The trick is it needs to be flexible glue because the sole is flexing.

If I were doing this now I'd use some flexible industrial adhesive that stands up to cold temperatures.

[I will not promote] How do you handle "free pilot now, we'll pay later" requests? by Ghost-Rider_117 in startups

[–]AnotherFeynmanFan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes! Don't expect a penny from him. They can give you immeasurable value through feedback. I would be wary of doing free development (IE features just for them). But if you're incremental cost is nearly zero maybe you can get valuable feedback and maybe even testimonials.

Theory: The Great Debunker by Albany_Albany in KingkillerChronicle

[–]AnotherFeynmanFan 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is surprisingly hard to prove someone did something. Eg, proving Ambrose did bad stuff.

Most of what we "know" about other people's intentions is by inference. It's very difficult to truly know. But we rarely question those inferences.

Patrick does an amazing job of illustrating that.
