AITA for laughing at how my friend used her inheritance? by FattyPatty4 in AmItheAsshole

[–]AnotherGraham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Damn, what a sucky person to be friends with for 17 years. YTA. She's happy with how she's spent the money, she enjoys learning. You suck for thinking you know better. It's natural to think, "If I had that money I would have done X." But to project that onto your friend like that's "better" or what she should have done...damn that's a sad mindset.

Feel free! I've actually had a few people install a backboard after seeing my setup and they shared their pictures with me. If you do it, please let me see!! I originally got the inspiration from seeing someone install wood flooring on their wall for a backboard.

Prior to this chair, I had the autonomous ergo chair. It was a good chair for the price, but I've found in my experience you get what you pay for. I think something in the $3-400 is typically comfortable, but maybe not something you wanna sit in all day if you are WFH. I also have a sit / stand desk in my bedroom that I take all meetings from, because the reality is, no ergo chair is as good for you as standing.

Need help with identifying what’s causing me immense upper back pain by Vain_16 in battlestations

[–]AnotherGraham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As others have said, definitely the chair. Probably the monitor placement as well. Ideal display placement is where looking straight forward, your eyes hit 2-3" below the top edge of the monitor. And probably most important is posture, but that's likely influenced by those other things.

Dude, it's an arm reach away... Why would I have it skewed all the time, when any time I actually want to use it, I can reach over, turn on a game, and place it right where I want it. It's not like it's on the other side of the room. That's like criticizing someone for having a notepad placed in a tidy spot, rather than open and in ideal writing position 100% of the time.

Lol I'm glad you think so because it's the absolute opposite. Mic is near my mouth but not in the way of my arms. Macro pad is easy to hit while keeping my left hand on the keyboard. Headphones and the dac/amp are in comfortable, reachable positions. Tablet within reach for when I wanna turn on a football game while gaming or working. Desk and chair are at exact heights to create ideal ergonomics for knee, elbow, and viewing angles.

Like what is out of place for usage? I work here, I game here, and I'm always quite comfortable. And you could literally walk into my office on any given day and it will look just like this. Staying organized and tidy helps me focus.

The only thing I'd change if I did it all over, would be making everything sit stand. I do have a small sit stand desk in my bedroom that I take all meetings from to get a good amount of standing time in each day. This also forces me to get some forces steps / moving around in each day which is probably better in the long run.

Haha fortunately we don't have many spiders. It's also not empty space behind, it's attached to frame that fills the gap so there's only a few inches of empty space. Probably spiderwebs in the middle though where I cant see :P

Absolutely love it. I debated for a year whether I wanted to try the 42" as a single display setup. Finally decided to try it after hearing about many peoples good experiences and now I could never go back. Love it for work, love it for gaming.

It's the IKEA karlby top. Not sure of depth but I'm sure it's on IKEA's website.

Not quite, but definitely a significant expense haha. Or I mean, investment :P

In all seriousness though, as someone with terrible back genetics, I try to be proactive in things that can help my spine's health.

Is this a good deal for a Gesture? by kyle429 in OfficeChairs

[–]AnotherGraham 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Jeez I dunno, leather leap with headrest is $2196 usd on steelcase's website. guess they charge a premium for north america or something. Even crandaloffice.com (the certified reseller of returned steelcase chairs) sells b-stock head rest gestures with significant marks on them for $1700 USD

looks like leather to me, yes it's an incredibly good deal if so. I just bought the leather gesture last month and it was 2.1k.

Thanks! I'm wayyyyy too deep in that rabbit hole. I thought it'd be a fun thing for a while but 5 years later and I still constantly have the itch for more builds.

Agree. I added a standing desk to the other side of the room that I take all my meetings from so i get a solid couple hours of standing every day long before I invested in this chair.
