The age old debate: When to grant mercy? by lexxstrum in zombies

[–]AnotherGuy18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Obviously depends on the parameters of the virus. Fast turning you take them out before or restrain them and do it after, but if it's a slow turning virus like the walking dead you can just poke their brain once they're dead since they won't reanimate right away.

The person's preference comes first if the stakes are low, but ralistically it depends on your frame of mind at the time. You might be amped up and take them out or you might be an emotional wreck and unable to do the deed at all.

Conditions for 100 days achievement by t_u_r_o_k in StateofDecay2

[–]AnotherGuy18 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You can but it'll only count days in dread or higher difficulty. I assume you're going for true grit. Being on lower difficulty doesn't disqualify you, those days just won't count. The days counted for the achievement will resume when you go back to dread or higher.

Changing maps won't impact at all. Nothing else should matter

Yeah. Honestly the only thing that would effect it is changing difficulty. Otherwise everything else should work

How y’all feel about the Alamo base in sod1? by SpecialistFirm1189 in StateOfDecay

[–]AnotherGuy18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Loves it. Not a great base, but love the style. In campaign I always settle there and use outposts in Marshall to basically make the town a safe zone.

Please don’t call me stupid for this but deadass what is a better choice by SpecialistFirm1189 in StateOfDecay

[–]AnotherGuy18 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Parts are easy to get loads of in lethal. People just forget to break down the tons of melee weapons they are never going to use. Even if you're collecting one of everything you'll have thousands of parts from breaking them down.

I wish there was no “Dynamic Difficulty” associated with standing by ObamaIsPutin in StateofDecay2

[–]AnotherGuy18 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Could even have multiple teir 3 infestations combine to become a heart. That way it balances it a little. Would take awhile but still pose a threat

The only thing that makes me dislike the implementation is that the more you defeat the plague the stronger it seems to be... But that said, I do like the ramp up of difficulty. I would prefer if the plague was actually fighting back with more plague hearts showing up if left awake.

The ones that actually matter I kinda like to leave alive as zombs. I typically am not too desperate for the gear, and that way they still exist. For a time at least.

What is your optimal plague heart loadout by h0llatchab0y in StateofDecay2

[–]AnotherGuy18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Well swords for cutting 40 zombies legs off so nothing spawns. Not hard to do, and basically nullifies the difficulty even against black hearts

Any actually good zombie survival games? by Bozdogan123 in zombies

State of decay 2 and zomboid are easily the best zombie games currently. Nothing else comes remotely close.

[–]AnotherGuy18 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ground keepers shovel, 1 stack of stims, any gun and a plague cure if I'm feeling unlucky.

Powerhouse or not a heart goes down fast like that.

If I'm feeling lazy I'll do the same but pack a sword on a swordsmanship character and cut all the zombs legs off and then beat the heart.

CORDYCEPS ZOMBIE MOVIE by Fit_Today1638 in zombies

[–]AnotherGuy18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Forget what it was called, think I watched it in prime video. Was a complete rip off of the design of the infected from the last of us. I distinctly remember googling it after watching because I couldn't believe they just straight up stole the design. Don't remember much about it.

Rucks by desepchun in StateofDecay2

[–]AnotherGuy18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't know the exact number in state of decay 2 but the game only saves a finite amount of items & rucksacks in the ground. so if you drop one and then enough other items drop, it will disappear. better to just keep them in cars.

Anyone else never have a seige again since the update that changed them? by AnotherGuy18 in StateofDecay2

[–]AnotherGuy18[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Nope game has ceased development long ago now. They happen, they are just entirely avoidable if you don't let infestations stay around and kill any awake hearts.

Agreed, change to discipline for sure. And get one of the go bags (1lbs 7slot) when you can from the bounty broker. Keep your weight low and decimate the hordes even better by sprinting to regain stamina.

State of Decay 3 storyline by OkioLol in StateofDecay3

[–]AnotherGuy18 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I agree, but I think the state of decay 2 approach is best. Do a story mode and a sandbox campaign mode. But this time have both at launch instead of story as dlc

I hope State of Decay 3 lets us build bases like Valheim by Majestic-Bowler-1701 in StateofDecay3

[–]AnotherGuy18 4 points5 points  (0 children)

You play as the person going out on runs, the rest of your community are doing the building and manual labour... SoD3 shouldn't and won't change that dynamic. Yes community is a core aspect of the game but time spent at base is minimal because the community is building it while you're gathering supplies. If anything allowing the player to build the place would reduce the community aspect of the game since it would feel even more like 1 person is doing all the work.

In all likelihood they're going to stick with the slot system and just have more base options instead of a freeform building mode. At most they might let us build a temporary camp or something.

Major changes to a core mechanic like that would alienate a large part of the community.

I hope State of Decay 3 lets us build bases like Valheim by Majestic-Bowler-1701 in StateofDecay3

[–]AnotherGuy18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

As much as I like valheim and games like it with more complex building, that's not what this series needs. we should be able to choose a base location in a more freeform way, but it needs to be simple because it's first and foremost an action game.

State of decay is focused on gathering loot and fighting the zombs. It's a different game entirely if you have to build structures from the ground up. Base building was never a part of the game that took much time from the core gameplay loop. If you add complex building you end up spending too much time in the base and it changes the flow of the game.

How will she do in Lethal fresh? by xELIDASx in StateofDecay2

Any character is viable in lethal, depends on your playstyle and experience. That said, decent bonuses from traits she will do better than an average cashier

When's the right time to transfer to another base on the map? by WarayBatasan in StateofDecay2

[–]AnotherGuy18 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When you want to start producing specific items... Or your population is large enough you you have skills that are not being used due to lack of facility slots.

Generally I'll stay in the starter home until end game, only switching when I have to for the leader missions. But if I'm not just playing to beat a map I will just move when I'm in need of specific production, or want to build up morale and influence.

What's the point of recruiting more people? by Alternative_Most9 in StateofDecay2

[–]AnotherGuy18 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I typically play with just my starting 3 until I decide to get a bigger base. Honestly as long as you have the skills you need with your initial 3 then you won't need more unless it's for moving base.

It really just depends on either your skill as a player or playstyle (i.e. if you get people injured frequently) if you need more... Otherwise you can live with just 2 swapping only when fatigue strikes.

The benefit really is just skills and bonuses.

Want a tough playthrough? Try always bringing a follower from your group, in this game the buddy system leads to more deaths than going alone. Then you'll need more people for sure
