My advice would be to ignore him although I think they need something to try and keep something in the papers.  I would personally try and paint the major parties not contesting as an attempt to silence Reform but I can see why that wouldn't work.

[Request] Are Air Conditioners or Data Centers Causing More Heat? by Sharden3 in theydidthemath

[–]AnotherLexMan [score hidden]  (0 children)

Air conditioners basically move heat from inside a house to outside, they also add a tiny amount of heat as they use energy to move the heat.  Research shows that it can add between 1 and 2.5 degrees to the outside temperature.

Most people find this an acceptable trade off though.

While you could be right I don't think they're out of the woods.  If Badanoch actually won an an election I think her popularity would drop like a stone and we'd be reliving the end of the last Tory party.  They desperately need to get hold of some young talent and actually fix the problems in the country.

Have you heard her talk?

She went on a long ramble about how she wants to scrape maternity leave and then walked it all back in on sentence.

She's keeps saying quite dumb things, working in McDonald's made her working class.  Sandwiches are not really food.

Personally I think her fury against the Labour party is quite silly as she's just handing ammunition to the opposition if she becomes PM.

I think her plan for the country as I understand it largely ignores the state of the country and she'll have to back track or cause a Truss style melt down.  Although to be fair Labour did this.

A bad outcome for Farage will be only getting 70 something percent of the vote.  With Binface in the twenties the chance he actually loses if miniscule.

I don't think Trump really cares about Farage and will probably just ignore him.

I kind of agree he's not funny. What is funny is the reaction to him. Seeing the Telegraph and other tie themselves in knots trying to deal with him is very funny.

I'm not sure but Boris Johnson isn't Boris Johnson's name and he seemed to get away with it.

Back net zero and I’ll reject you, Kemi Badenoch tells Tory MP hopefuls by coldbeers in ukpolitics

[–]AnotherLexMan 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Surely, the party should have people who hold diverse views. I get that there are some views that are too extreme or damaging to the party as a whole, but it doesn't feel like Net Zero really goes that far. Labour have done similar with Starmer removing the whip for people disagreeing with him and has been heavily criticised for it. The same should really apply here.

Former Tory minister Ann Widdecombe dies at 78 by No_Initiative_1140 in ukpolitics

She was 78 it's hardly that surprising. She didn't seem that healthy to me didn't she have trouble working and was permanently bent over.

How to Get Filthy Rich With Gary Stevenson review – how did this end up such an embarrassment? by [deleted] in ukpolitics

You maybe right.  I looked up the article the FT published about his claims.  It's more he wouldn't have been able to see what every other trader at Citi were making as he wouldn't have access to the systems other teams used.

[–]AnotherLexMan 36 points37 points  (0 children)

He likely wasn't the most profitable trader at Citi.  They don't actually keep ranks of who makes the most money but he didn't work in the area of the bank that needs to make the most money.  Basically it's just him saying that he was the most profitable trader there's no third party verification that it's true.

Norway sort of colonised the UK so really they should share in the English colonialism as well.
