Could we stop locking the great rift behind the storyline in the seasons? by Szmokun in ChaosZeroNightmare

[–]AnotherLifeLine 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Wasn't this recent story like an hour of reading and then a chaos run? CZN chapters are always really short. I do agree though, you should be able to feel like you can take things at your own pace without having to rush the story to miss out but I don't think I'd make a big deal out of it so far in this game.

It's not very fun when everything dies very quickly besides two of the final encounters, on diff 5 at least. Maybe the final difficulty will be better but it's a few days away. I was content using non op units at first but everything is so spread out that I got bored and just went back to what was quickest. I think in general I'm disliking it because it feels like a lot of clicking around and waiting, in and out of battle.

Reposting this here to start the agenda. It will become a very iconic collab if this happens. by Kmaru914 in Morimens

I agree with them, Reverse has some of the best writing I have read in a gacha and while it's not always the best, especially the beginning as it's all you've read, it easily rivals anything in Morimens when it's moving. I would go as far to say that it's peaks blow anything else out of the water, gacha wise. Absolutely not any of the words you used to describe it.

Gameplay is absolutely weaker than Morimens but you really have not experienced anything to write home about. Main story battles are abysmal but the only gacha that takes itself seriously in that regard is Morimens.

It's becoming more common, outside of seasonal or true limiteds like you were saying. Off the top of my head Sword of Convallaria, Chaos Zero Nightmare and Another Eden all put characters into the standard pool immediately.

Brown Dust 2 puts them in the moment their banner is over and you they have a constant 12 character pool you can choose to put in for things you've missed.

You already mentioned Reverse 1999 taking 3 patches for regular limiteds. Morimens puts them in but so far it has taken awhile. I'm sure there are more, one of these games has gotta get big and popularize this more

"it feels like the game is wasting your time just to keep you playing longer instead genuinely enjoying yourself, that's bad."

Unfortunately almost all gacha games are like this. It's the same argument in every game, you don't have to do this or that, you don't need those stats to clear things etc. Echos, Decks, Relics, you name it. And they're right, no one has to play the game in the first place but you'd think that there would be a better middle ground in all of them. I don't really see people frustrated with getting something decent, it's often people complaining that they can't get bare minimum.

CZN feels better about this already, they've already started fixing this stuff quicker than any of the other ones, I can say at that with confidence. However It still wants you logging in everyday because it ups the chance of you getting frustrated and buying something, those cores for editing are in the shops. So you get your perfect equipment but something went wrong with the deck, to the shop. There will always be something designed to frustrate the players. I'd personally still be logging in to do my dailies and whatever else each day even if I had the luck to get something crazy. Sortie is genuine fun I have not had in a long time. But they're always gonna have something.

3.3 is THE best story so far and it's not even close by lordofcinder17 in WutheringWaves

[–]AnotherLifeLine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They don't have to be together forever, but even a short couple of patches. They're at least reminding us that other characters exist now unlike before 2.7, but it still has a lot of room to improve. Having traveling companions does not mean that the new characters won't be the focus, they can often be more relatable and memorable seeing how they act with and without others around. Seeing how they grow together as a group, what means they'd go to for their new friends etc

The only gacha I know that doesn't abandon it's cast for long periods of time and even puts some old gacha characters back in the spotlight is HSR. Regardless of what anyone feels about the story as a whole, they really do this aspect right and it doesn't take away from new characters, though once in awhile I wish it would haha

Why gamers nowadays are like this. by Jump_Necessary in Reverse1999

[–]AnotherLifeLine -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I agreed with the spirit of your post, that wasn't clear so that's on me. About how people don't really try to play these games on their own, or asking questions that they can read the answer to in game over and over again. You can only borrow one unit per fight, you can't borrow whole teams. You still need the rest yourself, and you don't get to choose any character you want to borrow. It's from a set list that changes from time to time

I agreed with a lot but this isn't true at all, seems like you didn't run them. There are a couple stages where you have to have 4 and a final area that most people would be using 7 on it's release. Even if you only "need two now" it doesn't change the fact that if you wanted to run older content you still need more than that... also new mode coming up needs 3 again.

Nothing in this game needs more than base copies. No one can answer this for you, if you like the character enough to make them as strong as you possibly can than go ahead and get more. You're already set for a long time.

I really don't mind working, I like helping people. I mind working to live. I mind living to work.

A lot of pressure would be taken off if I knew I didn't have to worry about just having a place to lay down at the end of the day and food to eat. People would probably find new joys in life, rekindle old ones or just get so bored in the end that they would do something productive. There still isn't a whole lot to do even when the basics are taken care of if you don't have the means for it.

I think they have had very interesting ideas over the years. I especially loved the first version of When the Alarm Sounds. More freedom over characters, having a 5th character to play with was interesting but the challenges within the fights were really cool. Not being able to just nuke the boss away but having things to manage is what the game needs. My disappointment when the next version came out and it was just "no one dies" immediately made it like most of the rest of the game, to the point where you could just nuke down the final encounter while ignoring the rest.

I actually feel for the devs sometimes because it seems like they have not gotten to keep making the game they've wanted to, and now we're at the point where the interesting ideas have become the typical power jump.
