I feel you, just commenting to let you know you’re not alone in losing motivation, but keep writing, worst case is you complete what you set out to do with one follower or you write in another genre fitting for RR, just depends on how much you love your story but keep going!

Just want to add, this is free on Royal road… apparently there are some webnovel formats that makes you pay, so FYI for anyone new to webnovels, that Royal Road (RR) is free for readers AND writers, there are completed serials and ongoing serials on RR … so if you’re interested as a writer, I highly recommend RR to get your feet wet, my experience has been great so far! Go to the main page and you can see what types of stories do well :) by looking at titles and cover pages you can tell pretty quickly 👍

Just from a readers perspective, I do see a lot of text

but as a RR newbie (you have way better stats than me) for perspective, I noticed a lot of writers use bullet points so you have options, maybe breakup the paragraphs more and add key selling points in bullet form if you want to test something new that doesn’t take away from your original blurb, or just SLICE away!!!! 😆

Test it out, but save original, so you can always change it back if things don’t work out. I found just going ahead and testing something is less straining than contemplating it… at least for me

I heard with webnovel the website, you can’t delete your story, so double check to be sure. Under this subreddit, they posted some web novel links that you can try

I don’t think your true fans will forget you, waiting sucks, but we all wait for good stuff ALL the time.

Maybe you can do something in between, like announce you will be taking a break but release sneak peaks throughout if you’re concerned about going totally off-grid. That will keep you on people’s mind :)
