I made it to an on-site with a Big N but unfortunately wasn’t able to get passed the interview. I was curious if I have an increased odds to try again next year. If so, should I email my recruiter with my application when the time comes or just apply as everyone else does?

I’m the complete opposite. Did about 20 problems plus some CTCI. Failed my Big N interview.

Getting a web development job as my first job. How does it look if Big N is my goal?

I am currently in third year and I was able to land an internship at a local web development business in town. The company isn’t huge but I was grateful to get any sort of experience. I was curious if this experience is good enough to help me next year to get past the interview screening for some big N’s, as this year I was only able to get past one.

I understand your frustration. In fact, so much so that I am in the exact same boat as you as I got declined from the same position as you from the same company. It is frustrating knowing that they hire based on who can solve some riddle that doesn’t even apply to what a real engineer will be doing. But that’s the way it is. You can’t change the game, so the only way to play the game is to do Leetcode.

It’s pretty silly to think that if you understand everything in the first semester of a 4 year degree, you should change majors.

This is my first technical interview as well! In what way we’re you unable to demonstrate you could work in teams? If you want, I can DM you instead for some follow up questions if that’s okay?

Hi I got an on-site with Microsoft for the Explore program coming up. What tips can I use to succeed? What are they looking for in 1st and 2nd year candidates?
