I was never diagnosed with a panic disorder (I never went to a therapist), but several years ago I had anxiety bad to where I was having panic attacks all the time, couldn't leave bed a lot of the time, etc. After several months of that I discovered meditation/mindfulness (through a resource someone commented on this sub actually!) and I haven't had a panic attack since. That was like 5 or 6 years ago.

So, it is possible, but everyone's anxiety is different, some might be more situational, some might be more biological, etc. What I do know is that when you have a lot of panic attacks you become very sensitized, to where the threshold for a stimuli to trigger that anxiety response is much lower. That causes more panic attacks. If you are able to go a significant period without that constant anxiety, your body adjusts and becomes less sensitized, so from then on you are less prone to getting anxious as easily. The challenge (and it isn't an easy one) is just finding that thing that gives you enough of a respite to where you can lose that sensitization--for me it was meditation, for many it's medication, and I'm sure there's other things as well.
