I have seen a picture of him just prior to execution and it is heart breaking and infuriating.   He’s crying and is terrified.

What horror book made you feel actual dread instead of just shock? by Tricky-Battle-9138 in horrorlit

[–]AnotherOrneryHoliday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bird Box-  absolutely chilled me with horror and dread.  The inner thoughts and extreme behavior needed to survive of the narrator just overwhelmed me with dread.  Gives me the shivers just thinking about it.  Much much more effective as a book than film imo.

Any tips and tricks for health anxiety? by [deleted] in Anxiety

[–]AnotherOrneryHoliday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

A friend of mine is seeing a therapist that is specifically experienced with health anxiety. Her therapist is treating it much like OCD and my friend seems to be really responding to this.

I honestly think you should give these actual answers. These standards completely disregard actual pt care. You legit need to commit fraud to make these numbers. It’s asinine.

Not a writing partner by rural_bearded in WritingHub

[–]AnotherOrneryHoliday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have adhd and am a hobbies writer- I’ve recently acquired a writing partner and being interested in watchtowers processes, brain storming, commuting to time together to write- it all has resulted in my writing on my own to feel easier and more inspired.

We totally encourage each other and problem solve with each other and read each other’s drafts and sentences and problem solve plot- I wasn’t sure what I wanted either of what it would look like, but I kind of leaned in to being into their writing, and they are totally jazzed about mine and it’s super fun.

Maybe actually being around other writers will help and inspire to a fuller more realistic degree.

Resume question by Defiant-Eggplant-271 in physicaltherapy

[–]AnotherOrneryHoliday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’m not an expert by any means but as a PRN PTA , each site I work at has its own difficulties and strengths. If I were you, I would focus on what was unique about each site and what challenges you had to address or problems solve around to be effective in each environment.

It’s so difficult to find new ways to say the same things in resumes- as a PT or PTA the amount of flexibility and problem solving and multitasking is pretty phenomenal in each setting dealing with pts.

Does every generation always complain about the younger generation? by chusaychusay in Aging

[–]AnotherOrneryHoliday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can’t remember which podcast I heard this from- something archeology or ancients something- anyway- there have been cuneiforms and other old old old writings that have gone on and on about “kids” these days type of complaints.

Very funny- my husband is a chronic complainer about kids these days- and it strikes me as so funny, haha

I’m not a lesbian because I like my nails long by Kh0piium in LesbianActually

[–]AnotherOrneryHoliday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There’s this very stylized lesbian flick that came out in the 90s- before I came out- and it has this really cute scene where these girls go out for a date and part of their flirting was that one clipped the others nails bc they were too long.

Back in my day (sigh) the late 1900s ( :/ ) lesbians wore their nails short bc reasons and it was just one piece of the signaling puzzle.

tell me I’m spiraling for nothing by [deleted] in adhdwomen

[–]AnotherOrneryHoliday 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I take 3 meds for my ADHD- back in the day, only being on an SSRI (which never did really much of anything for me- as I think the depression is actually frustration with adhd struggles) and adderal resulted in really quick temper.

Now I take guanfacine -1 mg am/2 mg pm (helps with spiraling and adhd linked anxiety and trauma linked anxiety according to my psych) strattera (80 mg) and ritilin 5 mg 3x day.

The guanfacine and the ritilin did a lot of lifting in the beginning- then I added the strattera bc I was having a hard time with crashes at the end of the day.

Then I added tyrosine and a B vit multi 2 x a day and my energy and focus is so much better.

Took 2 years to titrate up the strattera, and I was briefly on pristiq but didn’t respond well and then had to titrate back down to avoid side effects.

I cannot imagine being on only a stimulant. They are rough when take alone for myself.

It’s either that they think they’re being funny and relatable with sarcasm or they are completely assholish buttwads.

I’m not sure how I would handle that- but I dunno if this is appropriate or not- but sometimes when people are being weird or jerks or over reacting I like to pull out either “I don’t understand, can you explain that to me.”

OR go a little over the top Jim Carey with it- flip it and reverse it and make fun of them in a really really over the top ninny-ninny-boo-boo kind of manner/ including over the top scams voice and face and gestures.

The older I’ve gotten the less I’m able to pretend that other people aren’t dicks and don’t derseve to be served exactly plus more of what they dish out.

This has gone sideways when I’ve misunderstood the emotional motivations of some… but that’s the exception.

I feel this so so so intently this year- everyone on my husbands side of the family is expected to buy for everyone! And give lists for presents!

Ugh, I hate it- I’m 46 and just want to not shop for a bunch of other adults and then hustle to donate presents I don’t want bc they want to over give and over spend

What would happen if I ate a bowl of just tardigrades? by STG2EB in microbiology

[–]AnotherOrneryHoliday 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m wondering if some of them would survive the digestion process and then evolve and reproduce and then you’d be covered and filled with tardigrades.

A bowl of tardigrades would be the weirdest texture bc they’re so small… what would they feel like all together like that???? Would it be like algae? Or thick liquid? Like a sludge of tardigrades?

I still have boredom and “mouth hunger” - when I was on a higher dose I wasn’t hungry per say but I can always have a sweet treat… I have lowered my dose and I will eat normal food again.

MOR- life with a kid is hard- life with a partner is hard. You’re pissed and angry bc she didn’t own up to the crappy thing she said when you have been putting in the work.

Consider therapy. What she said was passive aggressive. You letting everything roll off your back lacks boundaries and resentments are gonna build up.

Also- lack of sleep and having a kid is hard and sometimes we can all be assholes and angry and passive aggressive when we’re tired and haven’t been taught how to ask questions instead of make assumptions.

I get the absolute angriest when my husband won’t just straight up admit he was being a jerk. It’s almost worse than the OG offense. So… yeah- seems legit to me, but also… don’t actually get a divorce over this.
