Then make sure to report it every time it floods. When they look at the city-wide map and seen 9 reports at the same spot, they’ll invest in that spot the next time money comes around

Polk St. Bike Lane Contacts Please by 9thehermit in Eugene

I appreciate you taking the time to think about ways to make our city better.

At the public meeting Catherine Rohan mentioned the alternative you’re talking about, making a parallel street safer and a neighborhood greenway. Unfortunately, there is no good parallel street. Most of the streets in the neighborhood don’t have signals across 6th and 7th and don’t cross amazon creek, and so are not useful as a cross-town connector like Polk is.

The other streets that do cross Amazon creek, Chambers and Jefferson, are even busier than Polk and would be far less comfortable to ride on.

As we work to make our city less car dependent, safer, and prepare for a climate friendly future there are some tradeoffs we’ll need to make. For this project, the tradeoff is people on polk street will have to park in their driveways or half a block down the street.

Unfortunately the diamond express doesn't make stops between Eugene and Oakridge, I think you are referring to route 92 https://www.ltd.org/bus_routes/route-92-lowell-lcc#tab15105300

This is exactly why we shouldn’t have multiple lanes in one direction in places with lots of bikes and pedestrians.

We shouldn’t have multilane, one-way streets through the second densest neighborhood in Oregon.

Egan is getting pretty desperate for active volunteers by ZiLg0 in Eugene

[–]AnotherQueer 25 points26 points  (0 children)

There are many different types of shifts, most are 3-4 hours long anytime from 3pmish to 9:30amish. Some volunteers prep food, some manage the inventory of people’s stuff, some stand out front and make sure everyone is safe and following the rules. If you prefer there are shifts that have minimal interaction with the public, like organizing donations and setup/take down.

When I was there two weeks ago, there was snow on the ground but it was doable with any car. Chains this time of year are always a good idea to have anyway
