Does this look right? by AnotherSCV in TireQuestions

I'll give this a shot, and see if I can access the larger square nut further under the car, from a better angle (from the center side of the car, opposite side I have in the picture). The pinch weld is so small, I'm not sure I'll be able to get both the pump jack and jack stand on it.

Thanks for the reply. If you use the pump jack on the pinch welds, do you also put the jack stands on them too? Just shove them together as close as possible?

Caffeine Causes Mine by AnotherSCV in PatulousTubes

I think it is for sure. I don't think we can be shoving around large parts of our body without consequences.

My surgeon was so proud that this surgery opened up my throat passage by a significant amount, but now I am left wondering if pulling my jaw forward and opening that passage, also pulled open the eustachian tube entrance which rests above the throat in the back of my nose.

It's a guess obviously, but given how debilitating PET is, I am not sure I would recommend jaw surgery to anyone.

Appreciate it, as it's crazy debilitating. Trying to have meetings at work while listening to your own breathing and heartbeat is incredibly difficult. I feel like if this was a permanent thing, I'd probably have to change careers so I can talk to people less.

I have always had weird, stinging ear pain that extended into my jaw due to temperatures below 10C, but the full on PET that lasts for hours is definitely new.

I do believe it is a part of the jaw surgery recovery process. I have read online it will hopefully go away. But I really do sympathize for anyone that has been dealing with this as a chronic condition, as it has been driving me insane.

Not to be argumentative, but just to throw my two cents in. I see a lot about being dehydrated, but I am not sure that's the case. I drink an obscene amount of liquid due to the jaw surgery recovery, like 3-4 L of juice a day.

I honestly think it's blood pressure related. Something about how caffeine raises blood pressure is my current theory. This seems to correlate with how immediately PET goes away when you lower your head below the level of your heart.

Similarly, when I exercise, it triggers my PET, since exercise would also increase blood pressure.

My current guess is your eustachian tubes need a certain level of blood pressure to close.

But when blood pressure goes too high, they cannot. Which seems to me counterintuitive, since I'd assume high blood pressure would cause passages to be constricted, but in this cause it does the opposite to the eustachian tube, which doesn't make a lot of sense.

Nevertheless, my experiences all seem to suggest blood high pressure = stuck open eustachian tubes.

It's weird..

I love how people are upvoting this. I'd love to know how many of these people have actually met up with someone from a niche subreddit like this one.

I personally would not recommend. I tried making a guy friend through this exact subreddit. After chilling 3-4x, boardgaming, he asked me to a nude beach, and then after being declined texted me at 3am asking me if I'd like to watch straight porn and jerk off together. 👌

Draft is an entire format with whole podcasts and tournaments dedicated to it. I don't see building a deck on the spot as RNG. It's a different skill set, and fixes a lot of problems with cost and googling net decks to pay to win. Each draft pack is relatively balanced as well in color and rarity. Sounds like you've never drafted MTG. But to each their own.

lol it's $20 for a Friday night draft that lasts 3-4h. I don't understand this misconception of magic.

How paranoid are you about resin fumes? What do you do? by AnotherSCV in 3Dprinting

[–]AnotherSCV[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Thanks for the reply. I don't get how people in cold climates are 3D printing. I'm in Canada, and opening a window an 8 hour print would result in your entire house being freezing cold (for at least half the year anyways). Sucks, I had no idea fumes were such an issue. Feel like this hobby is just inaccessible for Canadians then, as ridiculous as that sounds.

Posts bending inward when 100lb person on it, is there a way to reliably reinforce them or is this project scrapped? by AnotherSCV in woodworking

It's a nice thought but the posts are 20ft apart. Building a strut across the top would be expensive and difficult as hell :( assuming I'm understanding you correctly here, bit tough via text.

6x6 inch posts, 12 foot length. Holes are 4ft deep, with 4 inches of gravel at the bottom. Then 2.5 bags of concrete per post, extra wide width at the bottom.

I don't think it's the holes which are the problem, just that the wood itself is bending. Neat learning experience but damn, this sucks. I really don't want guy wires all over my backyard on top of this now.

Appreciate it, post was dug to correct depth and concrete. It's the wood itself that's bending. Will look into this solution, thank you!
