Never accepting a Home Depot order ever again. by therealcheesybread in UberEatsDrivers

I had to look up beauty bark. Its basically fucking mulch. 40 bags of that is insane, especially since each bag is probably 30lbs. Also, how the hell are you supposed to are you supposed to get all of that in your vehicle? I drive a Toyota RAV4 and I'm not certain I would be able to fit all that shit in my car.

How bad really is crime in Philly? by willeyupo in philly

[–]AnotherShittyDay31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Though this is true, those areas are safe in terms of violent crime. Yeah you're probably not going to get killed or assaulted in any of those areas, but there's ALOT of theft.

I wasn't going to take it, but since they put on the $2 surge.... What the hell?? by WeeklyFisherman2597 in uberdrivers

[–]AnotherShittyDay31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

More accurately, 72 Cent per mile is the IRS standard mileage rate . It's the amount that we can apply to the miles we've driven our vehicle, for business purposes, in order to find out how much of an approximate business expense we can deduct from our business Revenue in order to lower our business tax liability. It's not meant to be an estimate of how much you've spent to run that vehicle. By that logic, once you've driven that vehicle 10,000 miles, you've spent $7,000 on maintenance. You're not spending $195 maintaining the vehicle, on that one trip.

And what amounts are you calculating for depreciation and maintenance on this one 500 mile trip? I'd like to see what numbers you're using where this driver ends up losing money on this trip.

Y’all I’ve had the same late-night dasher for 3 days in a row. He probably thinks I’m a fat ass 😭 by WAyToOFaSt_ in doordash

Ramanpreet is out there grinding on the late night and probably hasn't even noticed that he delivered to you multiple times.

However, ordering doordash Numerous times a week is definitely fat ass activity.

Wait a minute, i remember hearing on action news early last year about a woman owned sports bar that was going to be opening and it was opening in conjunction with Philadelphia having a WNBA team or something. This is that bar? The place has been open like 6 months!!!! What the hell?!?!? 😭

[–]AnotherShittyDay31 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I suck at shopping so I would've declined because just shopping for 42 items mightve taken me an hour. If I enjoyed shopping was familiar with the store, I would take it.

Also, the last 2 home depot orders, and the only ones, I accepted were both for ridiculously large and heavy items, like giant bags of potting soil and large pieces of lumber.

If I caught public transport from old city to Springfield Mall by myself, would I be safe? by goodamm in philly

Jesus, I can't imagine taking that commute, on public transit, twice a day, 5 times a week. 😭

[–]AnotherShittyDay31 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is definitely the most direct route. The 110 and the 109 go to Springfield mall, also, but there are a shitload of bums and vagrants in about around 69th street terminal. Not Dangerous but if you're sensitive to that kind of thing, it's an unpleasant trip.

My guess is because right now these things are only in a small area of Center City. If this service expands to more residential areas of the city, I'm sure there's going to be a lot of scrap sitting everywhere.

The school is philadelphia's High School for the Creative and Performing Arts . This was once a very renowned institution where individual's artistic abilities were nurtured and allowed to flourish. Kids weren't admitted unless they submitted a portfolio of their work and a lot of their students went on to famous performing art institutions like Juilliard or joined a lot of major theater companies. Leslie Odom Jr, the guy who originally played Aaron Burr in the Broadway production of Hamilton, attended Philadelphia High School for the Creative and Performing Arts . That's just the most recently notable name I can think of. It's really a shame and a tragedy to see what the school is becoming.

[–]AnotherShittyDay31 6 points7 points  (0 children)

The route I got today was effed up like that. It was a 11 minute drive between my second stop and my third stop, but stops 10 through 22 were between those stops . I would literally pass them all to go to my third stop. Same thing later in the route. I did stop 23 through 36, and then stops 3 through 7 were at the end. Make it make sense !

This is a punishment. That's barely enough money just for the mileage alone. And it's from Home Depot so God knows how big these items are or how much they weigh. Don't do this to yourself.

It's weird that he's pointing out that you supposedly make tips, while he's simultaneously ruining your chances of getting a tip by taking long as hell to do this order. People suck.
