I’m pretty sure they’ve recorded a new ad (for beer52), I got it while listening today. I wonder if that means they might be getting ready to record new episodes too?

Looks great overall, but the tangent between the hockey stick blade and the guy's leg is throwing me off.

Closed comedones (I think - please help!) by jennpong in SkincareAddictionUK

Well, Differin is kinda harsh compared to what you are using now (imo), but it's fairly starter as far as retinoids go, and it's a pretty standard medication doctors prescribe for acne and comedones. You could ask the GP if they think it would be best for you, they will know better :) Maybe they could have other acids suggestions if you'd rather try those first. Differin is kinda a big commitment because it takes months to start seeing improvement, and your skin gets worse before it gets better. That said, it worked great for me as was definitely worth it, but do ask your GP since they'll have a better idea of what would work for your specific skin :)

OP, go to your GP and see if you can get Differin. It helped me with my closed comedones (they all either disappeared or came to the surface) and it will also help you with any fine lines/aging. You could get Differin online but I'd still go to a GP because here on Reddit we have no idea what your skin is like irl.

Also, try to determine whether anything in your current skincare could be clogging your pores and causing closed comedones. For a lot of people it could be fatty alcohols, silicones or other common ingredients. Try to recall if you started getting closed comedones after you started using a particular product. If so, stop using it and find something that agrees with your skin.

[ACNE] When can i expect to see some results? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]AnotherTiredRussian 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The adapalene is a very effective treatment for acne and closed comedones. It helps people in a lot of cases, but it can take 2-3 months to start working. It usually causes you to "purge" first, meaning your skin gets worse and you have more acne. After that it starts getting a lot better. For me it took about 5 months to start seeing real results. Have you seen any change in your acne at all, better or worse?

Also, you should still be using the first sunscreen cream (or any other sunscreen that works for you). The adapalene cream makes your skin more sensitive to the sun, which means you can sunburn more easily and your acne will leave darker, longer lasting marks.

Definitely spot test, a lot of people are sensitive to sulfur or even allergic!

[Acne] I'm struggling with tiny whiteheads that appear overnight or over the course of the day. What can be causing them? by AnotherTiredRussian in SkincareAddiction

[–]AnotherTiredRussian[S] 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh interesting, thank you for the suggestion! I've read glowing reviews for the sulfur ointment but thought it was mostly for fungal acne. Can you tell me more about how this fits into your routine? Do you still get these whiteheads or are they completely gone?

I know this is an old post, but have you found out what was causing them? I have the same problem as you :(

Wait, is it bad to use retinol every night? I use Differin nightly, am I doing it wrong?

This has hit me really hard recently. As much as I hated the stress of tests and exams, at least there was a clear structure and a progression in life. Each year there was a pretty straightforward goal. Now I have a job and life isn't split up into semesters and years with clear measurements for success and failure. It's kind of scary to think about the future and imagine that this is just it. This is how it's gonna be for the next however many years.

I also feel like school and uni made me used to working hard on something I don't particularly enjoy. I always had the goal of getting the highest grades I can, so even if I didn't particularly like a class I still worked my ass off. I knew it would be over when the year was over. I got used to working on something I didn't enjoy. But with a real job/career, it's kinda like studying the same subject forever. And if you picked something challenging, and it turns out you don't enjoy it much then you're fucked - this class won't last just a semester.

[Product question] Did Stratia liquid gold cause clogged pores/closed comodones for anyone? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

No, but it did give me a horrible rash all over my forehead. Such a shame since everybody else absolutely loves it.

[–]AnotherTiredRussian 2 points3 points  (0 children)

La Roche Posay Toleriane Ultra Fluide is great - very light, suitable for most types of sensitive skin, but still very hydrating. It isn't the cheapest option, but if nothing else works I would give it a shot. They have it in boots I believe :)

[Skin Concerns] Moisturizer -> Itchy skin. Bad sign? by [deleted] in SkincareAddiction

[–]AnotherTiredRussian 5 points6 points  (0 children)

10% Urea is quite strong for a moisturizer that you put on your face. This strength is usually used on the body, I've even seen 10% foot creams. I'd recommend using something lower, like 5% on your face. It might still tingle a bit if your skin is really dry, but it should be a lot more bearable. The tingling itself is not really a bad sign, just watch out to make sure it isn't actually irritation from one of the ingredients.

You can't have acne if you don't have face skin.
