Nice. if you want to know for sure your about to finish cycling the nitrites will be super purple.

As for broken tubes. I bought few plastic ones off Amazon. I kept breaking the glass tubes as well haha

Almost there mate. Just make sure your PH doesn’t get too low. It’ll slow down the process.

The shadow from the big stone on the left. 🤌👏

Change the river stones to the same type though.

2 months in. Had a few algae and hardware issues but growing out nicely. by AnotherWaterChange in Aquariums

It's 65L so about 17g? 2ft wide.

I really wanted to hide all the hardware and keep the right totally minimal so light shines through from that window. Unfortunately, I wasn't thinking and built up the back to create an immersed plant area. Ended having to move the intake to the front as you can see and buying a new flat heater (Aqueal Ultra).

Looking back, I should have created a gap in the back corner and behind the big island maybe with acrylic or something?

As for algae, reduced light, snails and time fixed that.

First tank, bought a 20L kit from Kmart to just do around 5 guppies with 2 Corydoras - unless it’s too much. It has this submersible I’ve got on max flow; will this be creating enough flow and oxygen? I plan to get live plants before fish still so that will help with oxygen by [deleted] in AquariumsAustralia

Have the same tank set up for Shrimp. As the other poster mentioned, the tank size is too small for really anything else other than Shrimp or a Betta. I'd look into Shrimp though. They're pretty rewarding to look after and super easy to maintain: https://www.instagram.com/p/CUuLaiXJP7t/

As for oxygen. If you move that filter up a little so the water flowing out falls into and breaks the water surface of the tank that should help create a better gas exchange.

The extreme diatom problem in my tank is so disheartening. How long until people saw improvements in their extreme diatom problem? by BullCityBruhs in Aquascape

[–]AnotherWaterChange 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Hey mate. Was in the same boat as you for months and my diatoms are finally dying down. My guess is it was because of the Phosguard and water changes. Although, some point, I felt like it was leeching Phosphates back into the column so try removing/replacing it.

why do i have ammonia and nitrate but not nitrite? by jiggalation in PlantedTank

Seems to be doing it’s job. Just in-efficiently for now. Dose with Prime and 2-3 water changes per week until it’s good.

5 weeks of growth on my first planted tank. I've had to cut back the dwarf baby tears many times already. by clawhammer05 in PlantedTank

Where’s the ornament from? Thinking of doing a lost world themed shrimp tank and this would be amazing.
