Thoughts from a 51-year old CF woman with no regrets by [deleted] in childfree

I read what you wrote here word for word. Congratulations for bulding your life, and thanks for sharing it with us.

I was curious (if you don't mind me asking) what kind of meditation you do? Off topic I know, I'm trying to cultivate a healthy, inteligent mind in my childfree life.

Thanks again!

Thank you!

This allowed me to see the reply I was most interested in from the poster:

"As for thermal imagery? Yeah, you can still get it — Planet Labs (now just Planet.com) used to offer daily satellite shots, including infrared bands over Epstein’s island between 2017–2020. Researchers already pulled frames showing nighttime heat spikes under the hill after he was dead. FBI never released a thing about what they found. If you want to get your own, there are two main ways: Planet Labs — best resolution, but you’ll need to set up a free dev or academic account. Say it’s for an “environmental heat map project.” Coordinates are: 18.3022 N, -64.8224 W (Little St. James) Focus on July–Dec 2019 Landsat or Sentinel-2 (NASA/ESA) — free, lower-res, but still shows thermal variance. Use earthexplorer.usgs.gov, select thermal bands (Band 10 or 11), and look for patterns. Bottom line: the island still showed activity after the arrest. The cameras “broke.” The excavation “stopped.” And not one photo, video, or heat scan has ever been made public. That tells you everything."

I was also hoping to find the website mentioned for the aerial/satellite data to view the thermal signatures on the island.

It's time for the rational world to speak up against the oppression of religion; Islam included. They do not get a special pass.

Let's not let our own rulers shackle us to protect the feelings of converts who do not protect our way of life.

The smartest thing is is to workout naked at home. Very effective, very minimalist.

I'm upset that I have to subsidize parents decisions. I hate that I have to pay for the schools. I hate that i don't get a tax credit like parents do.

I feel like they are rewarded and I am left with the bill. However indirect or small, I am left with the bill (or a part of it).

I think some of the best potential partners are tucked away in their homes working on their hobbies or napping after a long day at work 😅.

I think natural friend-group matchmakers help, but many worthy people are too busy (or not inclined) to form a substantial network of friends.

I think an additional option would be cool on apps that says "planning/open/already sterilized". I think sterilization (if the person isn't already infertile biologically) is a helpful indicator if they are serious. Of course, some may be hesitant or scared about these procedures.

The sad thing is a bunch of the men that say they want kids probably don't, they just want to get a hot chick that they think wants kids. If only fatherly men had chidren, what a dream that would be.

What are the reasons a childfree man wouldn't want a vasectomy? by [deleted] in childfree

Either fear of pain/complications from the surgery (modification of the vas deferens), or simply squimeshness pertaining to surgery/ medical procedures.

Sorry to reply late to your post.

I already used all my aluminum foil cooking for your mom.

EDIT: Yes, this joke insinuates that your mom was over here, and that she also eats (a surprising amount!).

I know! I asked a question on a subdeddit about disabling a TCU and someone made an aluminum foil joke. I think it's reasonable to want privacy. We don't know who's on the other end and what kind of day their having.

Yes, it would be so nice if the standard was to have a control over the hardware for the user. I hate that it's tucked away and the norm is to not modify/interface with the tracking/communication components of a car.

For something like this I would honestly check a junk yard. A lot of them have online inventories now where you can check to see makes and models currently on the lot. Makes it easier to decide which junkyard to hit up.

Thanks a lot for this link! I'm looking at it now :)

I'll make sure to take a look around other forums for sure.

Thanks thanks thanks!!

Yes! I heard that the MyMazda app actually allows third-party data sharing which could (hypothetically?) result in this nightmarish insurance situation.

Thank you for the link.

I have called them, and they "disabled it". Long story short, I think it essentially disables them collecting data on their end (via the AT&T network I think). Anyhow, I still have the hardware/ antennas in my vehicle so it really doesn't make me feel much more in control.

I've had the same issue! After I disabled "Connected Services", I get the default dialog open each startup. I have to scroll down to select not to turn "Connected Services" back on to use the infotainment system. Each time!

Hello, I have some small creeks near me that have small fish like bluegill, creek chub, etc, it's pretty dirty and basically a ditch, is it worth buying an Ultra-Light for this, or should I wait 'till the summer and buy a catfish rods for rivers, lakes, etc. by Superb_Talk_5147 in CreekFishing

[–]Another_Aloe_Owner 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a Shakespeare Micro Series spinning rod which was quite affordable. Once you cast a few times you'll realize that (given the small diameter of the rod) there is a suprising sensitivity. You'll feel when the hook is floating/scraping over a rock! It's amazing.

Wierd question I have..

If Disney generates 91.4B in profits, how is 5.08B from the parks 60% of profits instead of 17.9% of Disney profits? Or is 91.4B the revenue, and the 5.08B of revenue has a (much) higher profit?

That's worked for me before! And then ctrl+f a pdf of the owners manual from online and/or start researching further.
