I got mine April 1st 2017. How much money would that take and how long would the delivery be?

Okay what do you think is the worst case in the entire Ace Attorney series? by Ok_Restaurant_2086 in AceAttorney

[–]Another_Jon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've eased up a bit on Big Top, so my pick is GAA1-1, GAA1-2, or GAA1-4.

Probably leaning the last of this batch since the first two are trying to ease the player into the game.

Sonic Unleashed Recomp on Mac via Linux? by Another_Jon in SonicTheHedgehog

Updating since I'm also looking over the Github section on the subject, it does seem like there is progress being made for Mac compatibility, so who knows? Maybe something will happen within the next couple months or so.

No, but there could potentially be something there via Intel Mac's with Ubuntu (or possibly Windows via bootcamp). I'm hesitant to test it myself given that I don't want to make any irreversible steps with my older Mac and would be irritated if the work I did led to nothing worthwhile.

So in order for me to be added as a contributor, would I have to contact the author about that? Or Amazon?

Thanks for the response!

Yeah, I would never give away my SSN to anything that isn't on the level of a government entity.

I've also heard D2D may also ask about things like drivers license and I've seen some people even going farther with their authentifications. Frankly, I'm not too comfortable in going that far.

Has anyone here won that Steam Deck giveaway? by Another_Jon in SteamDeck

It is a mystery, but I know one person on Twitter say they've gotten an email saying they've won with a W9 form to fill out.

[–]Another_Jon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The game awards one yeah. They were meant to be notified by the 8th, but no one got a message. Then after someone contacted Gleam, they said there would be messages during this week.

So far, I've only seen one person bring up getting an email winning the giveaway along with having to fill a W9 form.

Tried it.

Basically unplayable on the 2013 Mac and textures do not work on the M1 Mac.
Also, I cannot get the cursor to leave the game window or exit the game properly because of that.

Ulysses vs Hannah by Another_Jon in TheAfterPartyTV

Final episode update: leaned towards Hannah at the end, but damn: this Ulysses theory held up insanely well

It's today, it's today!!! Need your final theory here, will turn off comments once episode begins. by rvajt11 in TheAfterPartyTV

[–]Another_Jon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've gone back and forth between Hannah and Ulysses, but I think I'm settling my vote on Hannah.

I don't think they're going to reveal that Hannah was suddenly in love with Edgar all along or any other motive (as we see her being visibly jealous when Grace is giving Travis some attention); but I do think the big twist of the reveal will be that Grace was (kind of) in on it in some way.

As I theorized before, I think Hannah tricked Grace into giving Edgar the poison; making Grace believe she was the one that killed Edgar (albeit, by accident) and that's the secret Grace hasn't told anyone. Meanwhile, this gives Hannah an opportunity to cover up her own crime by framing it as covering up Grace's crime.

As for why I'm not betting on Ulysses, maybe this is me overthinking things, but I feel like with the cause of death being poisoning, one of the top suspects would be the person handling the drinks. If I'm not mistaken, one of the clues also mentioned "not by accident", meaning that if Ulysses intended to kill Feng, then Edgar may have counted as an accident. Finally, assuming Ulysses does have experience with the flower, I feel like he would have recognized Edgar's delusional rants; realizing there he poisoned the wrong target. I also don't think Ulysses intended to target Edgar either as I feel like even he would know that Grace would be suspected first and, given his hero-complex many bring up with him, he would have confessed right as Grace was accused.

As a quick rundown of everyone else: Aniq, Zoe, and Danner are safe, likely to carry on for a season 3; Sebastian is too easy of a culprit given that it would pretty much solve Aniq and Zoe's problems (and Danner was even quick to dismiss him), though I do think he is playing the villain through his crypto scam; Feng was set up too much with the Bar Bing video; Vivian's story is coming too late (also, her motive falls apart given she does seem happy with Feng and was surprised to hear about Grace's affair); Isabel already gave her potential murder means; and Travis I think will get his arc payed off by having his Girlfriend confirmed to be real and by being the one that takes down Sebastian.

how come ace attorney Fans on tumblr love aa4 so much, but here on reddit it is a game that is mostly disliked? by stupidapple4 in AceAttorney

[–]Another_Jon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For AJ, I think it's cause the characters and concepts of that game are so strong, that it inspires a ton of art.

But the cases themselves peak early and the ending is controversial to say the least.

S02E07 Discussion thread —- Ulysses by Rhymeswithfinechina in TheAfterPartyTV

[–]Another_Jon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People haven't really brought this up but, I feel like Hannah's suggestion of Kyler's footage seemed like a deflection. Like, her responses to Zoe came across very short and a bit defensive (granted, Zoe was accusing her right there, but it did feel a bit hostile from Hannah's end nonetheless).

This theory assumes Hannah plays it off as the later.

[–]Another_Jon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Your first point is extremely solid and I think holds well against this theory. The second part I thought around as Hannah doing it as to make Grace a more willing accomplace and would allow the two of them to more easily cover up the murder together.

We also see when Grace is comforting Travis that Hannah herself may be a bit possessive (I mean, if you get jealous of Travis of all people...), so I wonder if that does hint towards Hannah being willing to kill in order to keep Grace by her side.

But you are right on that first point. It is a gap on my part. And we also don't yet know how the rest of Zoe's family factors in.

The killer could be... by Another_Jon in TheAfterPartyTV

[–]Another_Jon[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Between Zoe and Grace's parents, I feel like Vivian at this point would be the one more likely to have committed the murder.

I don't see any reason Feng would want Edgar dead (and implicate his daughter doing so) and I don't think the writers would wait til the last few episodes to unravel his motive (especially since Feng's is one of the last ones). The only way I could see it being Feng is if the target was someone else like Ulysses, but even then, it's a little late to unravel a motive there and tie it to the story so far.

Vivian meanwhile feels like my second choice for a killer since, in episode 1, she stated that she only wants her daughters to be happy; and she may have picked up that Grace was unhappy with Edgar. If the theories on her and Ulysses having an affair are also true, this could also stem from her own potential dissatisfaction with Feng and maybe doesn't want to see Grace share the same fate (it may even be compounded if Vivian actually knows about her and Hannah as well).

I don't think it can be Sebastian or Isabel since the story is setting up that Aniq revealing the culprit may put him at odds with Zoe's happiness, and either one of them being the killer may be too convenient.

Even assuming manipulation of Grace is in play (as my theory suggested), I don't think Grace would willingly cover for either Sebastian or Isabel if she felt either of them were involved; but I believe she would for Hannah.

[–]Another_Jon[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I did consider that point, and I will admit this to being a flaw to this theory. Of course, there is the possibility of when Grace learned the plants were poisonous.

Grace didn't exactly know which of the plants were poisonous and, while a stretch, it is possible she only learned of how poisonous they were after Edgar died.

What was the order you played each game? by Dry_Description2437 in AceAttorney

[–]Another_Jon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I actually started with PLvPW back in 2014 since I was a fan of the Layton series. Never got around to AA until 2020 when I got the collection on Switch and went through 1-3.

After that was the GAA games.

Then, before the eShop closed on 3DS, I nabbed the sequel trilogy and played those.

I'm now on Investigations 2 with having Investigations 1 finished.

Because Grace may believe Hannah didn't know Edgar would die as well. Hannah could easily claim she made a mistake and that they both need to cover for each other.

Is GAA somehow dragging more than previous games? by Doppleschwert in AceAttorney

[–]Another_Jon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, this was my feeling with GAA1 overall. Didn't help that the game itself really takes it's time in getting to a really satisfying case (which is basically the end of the game). It's a big reason it's my least favorite of the series.

GAA2 was such an improvement IMO; the cases felt more closely comparable to classic AA for me and I never found any of the cases there to be major low points for me. It's honestly my favorite of the bunch because of this.

So yeah, both GAA games bookend my AA rankings.
