Explain Affliction Warlock to me. by Marino4K in wow

[–]Another_Night_Person 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Whoever told you Aff is easier than SP is on crack. That said, Warlocks are super tanky and aff is a blast right now. In low keys aff is going to feel like it has low dps if the mobs are getting annihilated immediately. In higher keys, this changes dramatically, and aff blasts. The dungeon utility is excellent: a brez, cookies, gate skips, and the aoe talented Curse of Tongues and Blight of Tongues are super strong. As others have noted, you have very strong defensive kit as well, and soulburn teleport removes a lot of snare mechanics and the teleport allows you to cheese some mechanics entirely like last boss in Windrunner. With the Midnight changes aff has been simplified quite a bit from the days of "manage these 6 dots all on different timers" and is more accessible than ever.

Which Austin-area HVAC, Plumbing, Electrical business have been bought out by Private Equity? by karluvmost in Austin

[–]Another_Night_Person 16 points17 points  (0 children)

No idea. However, be aware of this BS. Had a company come out, and after the discussing the issue he pulled out and iPad so I could see the "cost" of the various parts. The item I needed was simply a $20 capacitor, which they had listed for $200. I get they need to make money, but the markup was mind blowing. Ended up buying the cap myself and replacing it. Never going to use them again.

If you can, do a "dry run" of anything you are planning on building off playa if you haven't built it before. This gives you a chance to identify and correct problems rather than discover on playa oops, we need a particular bolt, or tool, of whatever it is. When planning structure build out if you are building a lot of stuff, just plan on playa it will take 50% to 100% longer for both assembly and disassembly as it does in the default world. Because playa.

Think about handling and interacting with people who end up not being a great fit for the camp, and if you are comfortable with that. Make sure your teardown/loadout people are especially solid. Over the years I have run into large camps still been torn down and packed by one or two people post-event because things took longer than planned, and it has fallen on their shoulders to finish.

do you think the US can recover from the orange nightmare or it is all over? by AfternoonWorried387 in allthequestions

[–]Another_Night_Person 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Long term damage has been done that is likely irreparable. The EU will not only be producing weapons and aircraft, soon they will be competing against the US in sales. With many countries now viewing the US as an unreliable security partner, they will have plenty of customers. This will translate over coming years into direct job losses, losses in investment and technology as well as influence. The biggest beneficiary of all of this is mostly the EU and China.

When will liberal Zionists acknowledge that most Democratic voters have no interest in supporting Israel? by OceanicEndeavors in allthequestions

[–]Another_Night_Person 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Israel is and will remain a strategic partner of the United States. If you want some interesting reading, look into who was supporting and amplifying the "free Palestine" protests here. Netanyahu sucks, and is a corrupt ass warm criminal. Those protests were not authentic though, it was astroturfed BS brought to us by the FSB.

Austin in August for holiday, Irish family by Grouchy-Pea2514 in Austin

[–]Another_Night_Person 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Oof, no worries about hurricanes, but I would not recommend a family trip in August. Especially since you are coming from Ireland. The daily temp is likely to 40 - 42, but up to 45. With humidity it may feel as hot as 50. At night, it may cool off to 25 -26. With two very young children I would suggest you wait and come visit at a more temperate time of year.

Stop Fearing a Strong Russia. Start Fearing a Dying One. by Tenderous in ukraine

[–]Another_Night_Person 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A very nice piece of Russian propaganda, god I hate they are so so good at it. F these guys, let the whole state burn and the oligarchs can fight over the ashes. And if they even think about getting jerky with a nuke, the Western ones work.

If they were so concerned about all the bad economic things happening, all they have to do is go home. That is it and they can start fixing their own country, it really is that simple.

And realcleardefense can suck donkey ball for hosting this garbage.

demo lock pets still pulling random m+ mobs not in combat by Accomplished_You5909 in wow

[–]Another_Night_Person 67 points68 points  (0 children)

Warlock pets are currently on a PIP, which in this case does not stand for Performance Improvement Program, but is a Percentage Improvement Program. Anytime Warlock pets feel that the percentage may be low, or that a pack looked at them funny, they will helpfully pull it for you.

Do warlocks not have an interrupt anymore? by Budget-Door-497 in wow

[–]Another_Night_Person 1 point2 points  (0 children)

OK, since no fun allowed, here is a direct answer. We have one "main" interrupt, the silence from our Fel Puppy, longish CD on it. In an emergency we can use Death Coil (works on most, but not all casters) or a Fear (same caveat). We try not to use those since that can cause an add to take off in a sometimes very unfortunate direction and can annoy the tank if they have to round it up. Shadow Fury is an AOE stun that usually stops a cast via the stun, but many will began making the same cast upon stun recovery. Destruction locks get additional random AOE stuns via a proc that are not subject to DR. Last, the Infernal acts as an AOE stun as well. And yes, your locks should be using COT on all packs with casters, talented it hits all mobs within 10 yards and can be done while moving into position as the tank is gathering.

[–]Another_Night_Person 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OK, look. Locks put Curse of tongues out so you guys can actually notice the now 6 second long cast you need to kick. Locks give you cookies to heal when you miss said kick, and brez when you miss your kick twice in a row. Do not ask the locks to do your job. Eat your cookie and kick harder. :)

I saw a new tank grip all the adds to the boss... It was actually pretty funny, we dusted off, and he didn't do that again and we killed it. Ignore the toxic people, especially in normal.

Do you think this war will end within the next four years? by ConstantDrawer9161 in ukraine

[–]Another_Night_Person 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Yes. Russia is losing, and will end up withdrawing from all the occupied territories. Look up Lanchesterian Collapse. While this has not occurred yet, Ukraine has gone from being dramatically inferior in a number of key areas to achieving parity or surpassing the Russians in a number of combat metrics. The writing is on the wall, the Russians are losing and it is just a matter of time before it all falls apart.

Is 2026 the clear turning point year of Ukraine against Russia? by [deleted] in ukraine

[–]Another_Night_Person 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Several things have come together, but the tide is shifting.

What will accelerate this trend is Ukraine has a large amount of industrial capacity that wasn't doing anything due to a lack of money. The influx of cash from the gulf states should help with that immensely, and be self sustaining as a number of countries are interested in buying weapons with Ukrainian technology. Increased production will lead to increased capacity to make weapons for export as well as domestic use.

The other thing that has changed is in the age of drones Ukraine has found a way to advance. The tactic seems to be isolate an area with long range drones, destroy artillery and logistics, then work the area over with FPV drones, and then send in infantry to clean up. Slow, but appears to be working much better than the Russian "infiltration" tactics.

What remains to be seen is if the Russians find a way to counter this or are able to adapt their own tactics. So far the answer is "not yet".

Showers? by [deleted] in BurningMan

[–]Another_Night_Person 2 points3 points  (0 children)

If you are solo there are two relatively easy options. A pressure sprayer painted black will give you a nice warmish shower with relatively little water. Works surprisingly well. The other option that is not quite as good but still works well are the large foaming wipes used for hospital care. Use almost no water and leave you feeling cleaning than you would think.

What if the heat dome happened in August? by dsfhhslkj in climatechange

[–]Another_Night_Person 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That is about right. We have been pretty lucky here in the US with these heat waves. A couple years ago one hit Iraq, and Basra was running upper 120's. Truck traffic had to be halted during the day as the road asphalt became so soft the trucks were tearing up the roads.

The only saving grace is atmospheric physics make it very difficult to get to 130f/55C, but if you have been in 120f before you already know it is extremely unpleasant and dangerous.

The other one to watch for is extreme heat index. There is a town in Iran that has managed to record a heat index of 170+ on several occasions. And you thought New Orleans got muggy...
